Monaco are doing nothing that several teams before them have not done. They are just taking it to the next level. Rest assured they won't be the last team to be bank rolled by a mega rich tycoon or organisation.
Obviously the top players going there are attracted by the money and nothing else but if I'm being honest I'll be tempted if they come in for me with a decent offer Big Grin

Let monaco do what they want, I just want to see how far this owner will take them and more importantly how long will he stick around, Malaga comes to mind when they were supposed to be a the next big thing which failed miserably so if the owner makes a pledge to stay then good on him and with that said how exciting would it be if they would bid 85mill for ronaldo, I think if he refuses a extension at Madrid then Perez has to take the offer.

Being out of European competition must have been the deciding factor in them spending so much, if they do qualify for Europe next year then they might not spend so much as they know uefa will be on their case so investment in youth might be the next move in order to comply with fair play rules.

When they qualify for Europe next year they should be fucked even if they spend nothing next summer. No way within 12 months will they be able to afford that wage bill they're building up at the minute. It's the wage bill that kills your finances not transfer fees. Transfer fees come and go, wages are there every week/month for you to pay.

The only way they can get in Europe next year is if UEFA give them a pass. Let them off. They didn't give Malaga a pass though did they? So really they should be fucked regardless (unless they sell all these players they're buying) but it probably wont turn out that way, which would just completely make a mockery of FFP immediately.

Could be true what your saying but perhaps the owner is prepared for having to fork out on wages as he most likely had to entice the Porto guys and falcao with big salaries in order for them to join, plus he looks like someone who knows what his doing unlike the Malaga owner who knew nothing and just dumped them like that as he felt the investment wasn't worth it.

The only thing though is that outside investment from a rich owner does not count towards turnover in FFP. Your club has to be producing the turnover to pay all of your outgoings yourself. They cannot possibly do that.

There are technicalities where if you're 'close enough' and 'moving in the right direction' then you can get by like City and Chelsea will but Monaco will be nowhere near that either. Not even close. It'll take years and years and years for them to do it and show massive improvements in evening up their finances.

I'm sure they'll manage to get in but it's....... dodgy at best. Lol.
