Perhaps they are using this cup as a means of providing useful experience of playing in a tournament in Brazil for their younger players, with eyes focussed more on next summer, than this one.

I think their manager initially got criticised by the nigerian FA themselves for picking this youthful team and they were about to sack him but change their minds and let him stay.

expecting excitement tonight as Brazil play Mexico I'm sure the Brazilian looking for payback after losing the 2012 Olympic Final to Mexico. Should be a game and a half!!

Brazil were excellent early on but Mexico have slowly settled into the game without threatening the Brazil goal.
Mexico need to get better delivery from free kicks as too many have been wasted.

second half has been good and played with a good tempo, but I did expect more goals in this game does look like 1 goal will settle it I do feel Brazil rely on Neymar more and more in future and what Neymar himself needs to do as well is realise that there is a team around him. If it stays like this Mexico will have to rely on Japan beating Italy later to get through, and I would think judging on Japan's first game - that in itself, is likely to be a tall order.

Thought it ended up being a tiresome game. Flashes of brilliance from Neymar but god how I hate all the cynicism that goes on. Cynical tackles and cynical diving from both teams ruined the flow

Japan have done well against Italy so far. This has been the most entertaining game of the tournament with both sides creating good chances.

Great game, very impressed with Japan, I would like to see what ranking they are because they have play great football a lot better than many of the top 10! they do not deserve to loose this!
