Was the punishment given to Luis Suarez fair?

i thought it was over and done with after the evra incident, then definitely after the ivanovic incident. i think this is it for him now, last chance saloon no matter how talented a footballer he is! but hes given his word that nothing like this will happen again so i for one will pray for him he doesn't lose his balance again with his mouth open into someone's shoulder

It looks as though Suarez is Barcelona bound. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can get Alexis Sanchez as part of the deal.

FIFA has rejected an appeal by Luis Suárez and the Uruguay Football Federation. His 4 month ban from all football activities stands, together with a 9 match international ban and a 100,000 Swiss franc fine.

Liverpool have made an official announcement confirming that Luis Suarez has left the club.

As a Liverpool fan I am sad to lose our best player. But after the bite he was always going to be sold. He is an idiot but he is a super player.

Barcelona can't publicly unveil their new signing because Suárez is banned from all football activity. Barcelona has previously introduced star signings such as Neymar and Fàbregas to a packed stadium, but this time they planned to hold a similar event for Suárez in a non-football venue to get around the ban. FIFA though has said that "the ban relates to all football-related activity. He cannot be in a football-related public event irrespective of the venue."

He should have been banned for at the very least 12 months.Third time for the same cowardly obscene offence .God knows how many times as he got away with it undetected in the past ?
He's a fantastic player , but he's nothing but a petulant ,childish animal .
Cantona got 9 months for his "kung fu" kick .This prat gets 4 for the same offence for a THIRD time !!

Cantona was wrong to react but he was provoked by a foul and obscene thug. In a perverse way that fan deserved what he got. Still, Cantona deserved his punishment. Suarez has certainly been handed a lenient punishment that will do little to discourage his behaviour. Quite sad really as he does a lot of good work off the pitch that goes unnoticed. Rumour has it that if he commits a 4th offense he will be made to return to Liverpool as punishment
