Rafa Nadal pulls out of the Olympics.

Laura Robson had her best result ever in the US Open yesterday..

She had a shock victory over Kim Clijsters 7-6, 7-6.
This was Kim's last match as she had previously announched her retirement after this championship.

Laura Robson is again causing problems for one of the top seed at this years US Open.

She won the openning set against the Australian 2011 champion Li Na.
And she just needed 2 points in the tie breaker in the second set.
But the Chinese player won the set and the match has gone into a deciding set.

Edit: Despite bad umpiring which has cost her a few points... LAURA won the third set 6-2...

Laura Robson has just beaten another Grand slam winner to go through to the last 16,amazing and well done to the 18 year old.

Laura's definately coming of age this year. Such a good game, I'd give her a chance against anybody in this form. I also reckon she's a good shout for the BBC sports personality of the year award at Christmas time. Bradley Wiggins is the number one still, but Laura could and should be in the running after this year so far.

i dont believe she will even be in the running for sports personality! u hav mentioned wiggins, then uv got mo farah and jess ennis and laura trott 2 olympic golds, and jason kenny 2 olympic golds as well has chris hoy, ben ainslie won his fourth consecutive olympic gold! as well as many other contenders including rory mcclroy who has just won another major so i cant see her challenging for that award but thats just my opinion! as sum1 who likes to hav a bet i wouldnt put any money on laura robson but as i said thats my opinion!
