RE: Agree Button
What's wrong with the "thanks" button as is?

I appreciate some may see the Thanks button as a poor "Agree" button, but's underused as a tool to thank or implicitly/explicitly agree with someones post or part of a post.

I still think the thanks button is underused as it is, even for caps or pics posters, so let's just get thanking more...it maybe a poor means to express your agreement/delight/gratitute at someone's post, but unless we are seriously considering a button for every possible emotion you can express to a post ("mild disinterest", "bemusement", "boredom", "deeply distressed", "I'm calling the cops I'm so scared" etc), we can all get a little better at using the one tool we have to thank members....it's the thanks button.

As for negative button, jeez this place can get incredibly negative as it is, maybe a "no thanks" button or something will reduce the number of abuse, but probably you'll get the "no thanks" pressed then the abuse follows in another post...IMHO, I'd like to be proved wrong as this place is full of rationale, polite articulate members...oh wait...that's a unfortunate minority of members...must remember that.

RE: Agree Button
MMMMMMMMMMMMM-- an agree button could be a solution, but are we talking about agreeing within the whole spectrum, or are we agreeing to the whole post. Some might disagree with an agree button, as to press the agree button means you agree with someone but there might be something that you may not quite be happy to agree with. Maybee a maybee button, for those that sympathise, but might not completely agree, might be a compromise, but then again there might be those who might not agree with this. Agree this is a difficult thing to get people to agree to, so maybee we should start a thread asking if we should have an agree button. This is really good ciderBlushBlush

RE: Agree Button
Maybe just a green button for "generally agree" or a Red "don't like button".

It's a simple system as demonstrated here:

RE: Agree Button
A "button to remove all other buttons"
An "I'll Get My Coat" button
A "Benjamin" button...

(looks for "I'll Get My Coat" button that's not there yet)

I'll get...

Bastards! Who's nicked my mac...

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.
