The main party of the 'out' campaign will be fronted by a grinning idiot who no-one likes. The 'in' camp will be an unholy alliance of party's who normally hate each other.

The 'out' camp will paint a picture of a brave new world where everything in the garden is rosy, based on pure speculation. The 'in' camp will use every scare tactic in the book and paint a picture of economic armageddon if we leave.

Half the voters will go into the booth still not knowing which way to vote. But, in the end, will decide "fuck it, better the devil you know" and vote to stay in.

so same as the scottish Independence vote. Smile

RE: Europe..IN or OUT??
All the doom and gloom talk about what would happen if we left the EU is complete bollocks, the same people are using the same scare tactics they used back in 2003 when we were asked to join the euro. The politicians, the cbi, the employers and of course those riding the eu gravy train were all telling us what a disaster it would be for the UK if we did not join the single currency, millions of jobs would be lost, major companies would refuse to invest in the UK, we would have to re-negotiate trade deals and we would be left isolated and abandoned, but if was,nt for our refusal to join the euro we could easily have been in the same boat as the rest of Europe. So why should anybody listen to the same people now when they got it so spectacularly wrong last time.

I think this ft article offers accurate comment on the background to Cameron's new deal (pdf'd as ft limits number of views):

So we do as America orders?

As pointed out, Britian wasn't in Europe at one time, anything about trade negotiations is just the blackmail I pointed out. If all these buinusses thought Greece would be a better place to be then thats where they would be now.

Britian is a finatial hub of the world and has been for 100's of years, that wouldn't stop over night.

lancealot790 put it more succinctly than I.

What your commets about cholera and the black death are about I have no idea, but I believe Europe still has rabies in places.

Yep I agree with your suspicion completely.

Nah, it's more like in 'Superman 2' when he becomes normal Clark Kent so he can be happy with Lois Lane, and then finds she's not as interested in him any more. Sort of Tongue

The point is that we are IN there NOW. You can't pretend that UK 2017 after a Brexit would equate to a mythical halcyon era of the past, because there never was any such time. People who want to turn the clock back are fanatics, and thus doomed to fail, as I seem to think I've read somewhere laugh
