I remember watching this fight around my uncles when I was young as fuck, like four or something lol, I didn't know what the fuck was going on, but my dad was shouting like fuck, and my older brother was pissed when he lost...

And Colbert, it's always a shame to see legend boxers going into MMA without training properly, they get whooped because they have no take-down defense or ground game. I went to Cage Rage a couple of years ago, and saw Julius Francis fight, don't get me wrong, he was never a world beater, but he was embarrassed, and made to look like a chump off the street when he was better than that...

To fight in MMA... you need to be a rounded fighter - coming from a boxing background and having no other skills just allows the other fighter to take you down, control you from a dominant position, pass and do basically what the fuck the fuck they want from that position. It makes a mockery of what are actually talented fighters. If boxers want to fight in MMA, they should really put the work in and train for at least two years in a good MMA camp, instead of using their name to get a quick payoff when boxing promoters have lost interest in them

I totally agree with you Cee, I heard rumours last year that Enzo Maccarinelli was seriously considering quiting Boxing and joining the MMA.

LOL, just saw this reply... let's face it - Enzo would have to fight in a either a British organisation like Cage Rage (apparently they have found a new location in Birmingham, so should be having another event soon), or one of the 2nd rate American organisations. Dana wouldn't even give him a second glance, so UFC would be out of the question.

I mean he has power, but he would have to train at a good camp like WolfSlayer (Bisping's camp) for a good year before he even had a chance against a mediocre British based MMA fighter. In MMA take down defense is so important, I mean there are quite a few MMA fighters in the past that have done well without a ground game, Chuck was a great example, but he had great take down defense. Plus the game has changed since then, with the introduction of fighters like GSP who are so rounded, and are basically good at every aspect of MMA. If you watched the Cage Warriors events that were going on in Liverpool a few years ago, the amount of young talented fighters that were well schooled in all discipline's was quite impressive.

Every year the game is improving, the young up and coming fighters are getting better, more rounded and are basically being trained to be strong in every aspect of MMA. The likes of Enzo just walking into the cage thinking because they have a bit of power in their hands, and have done well in boxing they will be able to fuck with an MMA figher, is a joke.
