Absolutely devasting what's happened. All my sympathies to all those affected. Lots of damning evidence against the organisation that manages & runs the tower block, most damning a blog from November from the residents action group of the tower block saying they had been raising numerous issues regarding fire safety and the organisation was ignoring them & basically was a case of when a tragedy would happen rather than if

Theresa visits site of tragedy and talks to firefighters, police and ambulance staff, the same people who's jobs she wants to cut. Wont face the residents though, pathetic.

Hmmmm Interesting seems the new Labour mp for Kensington and chelsea used to be a counciller for the council and was appointed to the board of the TMo from 2008 - 12

It's annoying that the government should have forcing developers into installing sprinkler systems. And the council which owns the building should be making sure that everything is in place to make their tenants safe.

point the finger at the tories and labour (how long was they in power for????????? and did what for the police/nhs/safety?)
its not even the developers fault for using the cladding...it was legal to do so, it was eco friendly (do we hang the greens??), it was legal...so lets point the finger at those who allow it to be legal....

Our fire brigade says that nobody has ever died in a fire in the UK in a property with a "properly installed sprinkler system working the way it's meant to".

Following the eerily similar 2009 incident in another London flat, the government's advisor says its "[not] practical or economically viable" to retro fit all old highrises that way.

These are the domestic policy descisions that these people make in our name. They cost lives. Vote out anyone that backs such things.

By contrast, the refit of the Houses of Parliament, needed to prevent the "risk of a catastrophic fire", is expected to cost between £3bn and £5bn. It goes ahead later this year.
