RE: BBC salaries
^^^ I think they said Dimbleby was employed by a production company rather than the BBC hence why he's not on the list

RE: BBC salaries
I'm astounded at some of the venom about these salaries. Where were all the complaints about footballers salaries and the mega millions film stars get paid.

The millionaires on those complaining newspapers are two faced gits!

People the world over are envious of the BBC and all some people in this country want to do is drag them down. Or is it that some people are just envious because they don't have the talent themselves?

Footballers are employed by commercial organisations, film stars are employed by film studios which are in large part privately owned or listed companies responsible to their shareholders.

The BBC is a public organisation not a commercial organisation, there's a massive difference

RE: BBC salaries
^but tbf, they compete with commercial organisations for talent, so they have to stump up the cash to be competitive. but i'm sure they pay alot less than the others.

i don't necessarily agree the salaries some of these people are getting but they are probably fair, when taken in context of that particular market.

Chuck Norris has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). the virus is now in quarantine for 14 days.

RE: BBC salaries
^^^ Fair point, I accept the BBC is broadly in line with its rivals (actually paying less than, say, ITV and Sky by most reports), but my main issue is whether our viewing experience is enhanced by Lineker presenting MOTD given his salary?? Or Shearer giving comment at £400k? Even John McEnroe was on the list.

Poor Boris Becker wasn't in the list....no wonder he had to declare bankruptcy, poor bloke!! Lol

We pay their wages thru the TV licence thats the difference, paying news readers over 500 k a year is a scandal, the number of times they ask the viewers to email/ tweet in with info and news items is ridiculous, doing their work for them. They have a go at politicians all the time...at least we can vote them out.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

RE: BBC salaries
The real problem is not the salaries its the fact that people are forced to pay for a service many of them would be happy to do without. As i keep saying nobody in this day and age should be threatened with prison just for watching tv and if the BBC is so wonderful then why don't they prove it by standing on their own two feet.

And anyone claiming the BBC is impartial is taking the piss.

Yes, the same goes for Lord Sugar, Jeremy Paxman, David Attenborough and many others.
