Favourite Star Trek Episodes
As most would know by now am a massive Star Trek fan and been told I look a lot like Geordi La Forge from Next Gen lol.
Anyway thought I would create this thread but most of my fav eps will be from the newer shows as that's what I grew up with but I do have the original series except Season 3 waiting on a price drop so in time will include them.

Star Trek: Enterprise Season 2 Ep 23 "Regeneration"

This was a kinda of sequel to the Star Trek: First Contact, a research team in Arctic find remains of several bodies and equipment. They bring the bodies to there base and they regenerate and end up assimilating the crew in borgs.
The Enterprise is later called upon to investigate the disappearance of team, you find out it's the remains of the Borg from Star Trek: First Contact and you hear tie ins to do with the movie. Long story short they destroy the Borg ship but not before they send a message to the Delta Quadrant with coordinates of Earth but the message won't arrive till the 24th Century kinda of setting up the Borg in season 2 & 3 of the next generation all tho Q played a little part in it but it was a great touch.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 2 Ep 9 "The Measure of A Man"

This was a powerful ep full of great performances from Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes & Whoopi Goldberg where the highlight performances of the Ep.
Commander Maddox has been working on androids but isn't quite there so he wants take Data apart to help his research & keeps calling him it. Data refuses and Maddox isn't having it so gets a star fleet order forcing him to do it, Data resigns but is seen as star fleet property rather then a living life form so it's up to Picard to argue the case in court, Riker is forced to against his friend Data. Maddox just wants a army of Datas, slavery is bought into it and whole story is very powerful and moving story and there's a extended version of this Ep which am looking forward to watching.
But a highly recommended Ep of the Next Gen and up there as one of best Star Trek stories.

RE: Favourite Star Trek Episodes
^ another great thread mate and some excellent choices there.

My favourite would be S1 Ep22 "Space Seed"

Most fans will know the plot so I won't go on about it too much but basically the episode introduced us to Khan Noonien Singh, one of the all time great villains in the history of television and then film. The strength of the writing still holds up today and Ricardo Montalban is brilliant as Khan. Also the acting from Leonard Nemoy and William Shatner is very strong, especially Shatner who seemed to raise his game in the scenes with Montalban.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Best of Both Worlds (two parts).

Well, it's got the Borg in it, oh and Picard gets taken to become Locutus of Borg.

Star Trek: Voyager - Scorpion (two parts).

Well...it's got the Borg in it (I like the Borg episodes), it's the episodes where Voyager needs to find their way through Borg space.

Oh and it has Seven of Nine in it Heart

I would still love to see a Star Trek Borg series.

I was gonna mention The Best of Both Worlds but it was oblivious one so wanted to start off different eps. Interesting fact about the original script it was supposed to be Data taken by the Borg but they changed to Picard which worked better effect.

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 3 Ep 15 "Yesterday's Enterprise"

The Enterprise D through a temporal rift causing them to live alternate timeline now there a war ship and Tasha Yar is alive but she's supposed to dead along with the reappearance of the Enterprise C which in history went missing. Guinan is the only one that realises the timeline is wrong and that Tasha is supposed to be dead.
The Enterprise C ends up going back through the rift along with Tasha as a first officer on Enterprise C and the timeline goes back to normal but not quite as there are repercussions for Tasha going back in time. It was directed by David Carson how would later direct Star Trek 7 Generations.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine Season 6 Ep 19 "In The Pale Moonlight"

The story is told in a past tense with Sisko recording his log, things are going so well with the war against dominion so Sisko asks Garak to trick the Romulans into joining with the Federation. So he asks to create a fake data log. Long story short It doesn't work and Garak does something really twist Sisko finds out what he really did and let's just say it works out. Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko) performance is fantastic along Andrew Robinson as Elim Garek a called simply tailor lol. It a most watch and highly recommend watching this Ep.

Star Trek The Next Generation Season 5 Ep 18 "Cause & Effect"

The Enterprise is caught in a time loop and they repeating events over and again like Groundhog Day and the Enterprise blows up after crashing into the USS Bozeman and then it's keeps repeating.
They eventually break the loop and USS Bozeman survives the captain of ship is Morgan Bateson played by Kelsey Grammer they don't realise they have been missing for 90 years. Directed by Jonathan Frakes (Riker) another classic Ep.

Star Trek(TAS) S1 Ep8

"The Magicks Of Megas-Tu"

Star Trek V basically copied this plot in that the crew of the Enterprise possibly find the origins of life, only this is written much more intelligently.

RE: Favourite Star Trek Episodes
DS9 Ep 4x22 "For the Cause"

For this...

Also
"Improbable Cause"
DS9 - S3 Ep 20
Excellent Garak centred episode.

TNG - Drumhead 4x21
Picard on a moral crusade acting his arse off (also see Sarek 3x23). It's almost like he trained to do Shakespeare.

There's also the TNG episode that I seem to remember is from the crew's POV. I just love POV.

As a rule of thumb with TNG if Riker has a beard, if Dr Crusher is the Dr, if Ronald D Moore wrote it, if [Lore / Vash / Lwaxana Troi / The Borg / Q / the Klingons*] are in it then it's probably ok.

As an aside I wonder if the The Borg object to "THE" like The Ukraine?
