Received the following info in an email today which may be of interest.

Quest TV fails to launch on Freeview
Today, 14th of May 2009, was meant to herald the launch of Quest TV, a new free-to-view documentary channel from Discovery.
All was looking good for the launch - magazine listings were in the Radio Times, electronic programme guides had details of upcoming shows, and the channel was running promotions on Freeview Channel 47 right up to the planned 10am launch time. At launch, eager viewers were met with "Coming soon".
An announcement on the Quest TV website this morning, timed at 10am, stated the following:
"Regrettably we have made the decision to postpone the launch of Quest. Due to a number of commercial factors we have had to make this difficult decision. We did not make this decision lightly and we are working towards launching Quest in the near future. We would like to apologise wholeheartedly to any of you that have been looking forward to this launch."
It seems Quest TV now won't launch until later this year, with some commentators wondering whether we'll ever see the channel launch.

Other Freeview changes
A small reshuffle in the 30 channel number range has just taken place. Here are the new channel numbers:
30 Fiver
31 Five USA
32 Smile TV
33 Smile TV2 (back after a two month absence)
You may need to perform a rescan to pick up the new numbering.

Commercial factors is usually management speak for saying that the cost of broadcasting would be more than the current advertising revenue.

Also rember to rescan your Freeview boxes after May 20 to get Virgin One 24 hours a day an Virgin +1 in the old virgin slot that started at 6pm.

well isn't that bad news.......

Should all be able to Get Virgin 1 24 hours a day now if you have rescanned but if yeah from wales like me its slightly diffrent its For viewers in Wales Virgin1 is available from 9am to 7pm(Channel 20) and on the +1 service from 7 pm.(Channel 35)

what kind of programs will it be showing? i heard it was about animals
