Muguruza KO'd too.

Still hard to know with Serena, of course you wouldn't be at all surprised if she reached the final or even won it, she's yet to have a real test yet.

I'm not surprised to see the majority of the top eight lose early doors, too much inconsistency at the top of the game nowadays, Kvitova and Muguruza losing were the only ones I'd class as surprising.

Still 18 of the top 32 left though and it's good to see unranked players like Cibulkova and Safarova playing well again.

The seeds keep falling at this years Wimbledon.

Qualifier Evgeniya Rodina has found a way to unlock Madison Keys' game.

Keys was about to serve out for the 1st set when she lost 8 games on the trot.

But Madison has rallied and the current score is 2-4 against Keys in the 2nd set

Serena could make the Semis without facing a seeded player, what a fucking mess that bottom half of the draw is.

Fingers crossed Andy will be in a much better physical shape to handle five sets and play there but do worry if hard courts will put that little bit more of a strain on him.

The hard court season starts in early August i think, that will still give them around 2 weeks to prepare for it even if Wimbledon finished a week later, how much rest do they need? the grass court season is a short one anyway

They could even have moved the start time of the final to 12pm or 1pm, instead of the usual 2pm start, they are going to lose a lot of viewers this year but it seems like they don't care, the best we can hope for is a for a quick and easy straight sets win, instead of a dramatic 5 set thriller because that will certainly collide with the world cup finalRolleyes

Thought at one stage both Williams' would be out, then that they were both going through. Split the difference in the end.

Top ten in the Women's all gone, Bertens outta nowhere suddenly doing well on Grass.

The top ten is so inconsistent and weak, time the 1997 youngsters took over properly.

RE: Wimbledon 2018
In the end the Women's Quarters haven't worked out too bad.

Cibulkova - Former Grand Slam Finalist, former top ten, should be seeded anyway
Ostapenko - Former Grand Slam winner, former Wimbledon junior winner
Kerber - We all know what she's accomplished
Kasatkina - Up and comer, made good progress this season, part of the class of 97
Goerges - Took a while to get to a Slam QF, done well over past year
Bertens - Strange run considering how she prefers clay
Serena - The GOAT
Giorgi - The most hit and miss player on tour, but she's fit so I'm glad she's got this far

Will probably be Serena in the final, top half could be any of those four.

Kerber, Ostapenko and Cibulkova are all forces to be reckoned with, but the odds on Serena must get shorter all the time.

The battle of the opposites this afternoon.
It's a beauty v the beast, grace v power, speed v strength.

My heart says Giorgi, but my brain knows that it's going to be Serena Williams
