Looks like a tie-break dominated duel between him and Isner but I'm hoping the South African's previous slam final appearance will just about see him over the line.
Well done you Cool

Close call that one... Wink

However, the question is will he have anything left for Sunday after that marathon? Shame because people want to see a competitive final.

We'll have to see how much Djokovic and Nadal can wear each other out when they come back tomorrow. I'm sure Anderson will be hoping they have to duke it out deep into a fifth set and it goes to at least 15 all in the decider. A physically knackered Nadal or a mentally frazzled Djokovic might level the playing field on Sunday. Wink

Another long match between Nadal v Djokovic. It's already over 5.25hours long.

I hope Serena Williams hasn't got an early flight back to the States

I don't think that Angelique Kerber had read the script..
' Dream return, pregnancy with complications, President in the country, American royal in the house'

Well done to Angelique kerber, and come on Anderson. This year at Wimblebon must have been a tough one to call as so many of the top players fell early...the stunning Simona Halep for one Tongue A tired Anderson is still a fabulous player, but if he gets those little spots of luck that can make all the difference, it will drive Djokovic crazy, and maybe tip the scales.

Apply yourself and surprise yourself....You only fail if you never try.

Serena was very very bad today, Kerber was very very good.

Angie produced a perfect solid display and did everything right, fully deserved winner.

RE: Wimbledon 2018
There's no doubt that Kerber deserved to win, I wanted Kerber to get her first Wimbledon title. I also thought before the match that Kerber was more than capable of winning the match.

But come on guys - that was far too easy. There was definitely something wrong with Serena. It can't have just been pressure from the expectations - she's been there loads of times before and that excuse that they keep throwing up of "only her fourth tournament back" - that's doing my fucking head in. She managed to fight harder in all her previous matches so shouldn't have been a problem. Seriously - something's not right here. Obviously I can't prove anything untoward but Williams losing in under an hour? I'm not buying it, sorry. Way, way too tame a way to lose a final.

As for tomorrow, Djokovic may be slightly off at the start because of the emotions of his own semi final against Nadal going long and played over two days. That might give Anderson a chance, even if he's got to be fatigued after the five setters against Federer and Isner. Obviously with his serve and forehands he's dangerous if he gets off to an early lead. But its Djokovic, the guy whose already won 12 majors, the guy whose been number one for months, the guy who was mopping up every single title about two or three years ago. He'll find a way to win it, won't he? I know about all the shocks this year, but it seems unlikely.

I'll hold off making my bets yet. I lost out today and I need to think carefully about tomorrow before I make any selections. bladewave

RE: Wimbledon 2018
We've seen Serena put in performances like that now and then even before she got pregnant, her timing being off is usually her major downfall, put that together with fitness and movement she isn't going to be a 100%.

This was her first real test today, her draw was easy, not playing a seed until the Semi Finals and playing Goerges is nowhere near playing the level of Kerber, Kerber is a much better defender who makes Serena work a lot harder than most do, that was evident especially in the second set.

Kerber played the perfect match, Serena had no answers.

RE: Wimbledon 2018
When have we seen her putting in a performance that sees her lose a slam final in under an hour? When in recent times has that happened? When has she done that since she established herself as arguably (not saying definitely) the best women's player ever?

I'm talking about slam finals. The stage she's been on God knows how many times before and even in losing, they've gone the distance to three sets. I'm not interested in matches before finals. That's the point I'm making.
