Your 2018/19 Season Review
As we get to this business end of the season, I hope some of you now will begin to look back over the season and comment as follows :-
1)how successful the season has been for your particular favourite club
2)which PL side has impressed/unimpressed you the most.
3)your player of the season overall

1) QPR
With me it is QPR. We can count ourselves if anything lucky, not be going down to League One this season. We had some brilliant performances/results, but sadly not enough consistent results to be in the position where many pundits had expected us to be.
I have a feeling this close season will see a huge upheaval of players in/out and a new manager installed who can/should put things right. McLaren's sacking was forthcoming, but I felt they should waited until the season was over before sacking him.

2) Liverpool & Wolves
Two sides stand out for me. Firstly, Liverpool have been the PL team of the season. They have not wavered or backed down in giving City a fight for the title. They have played with a passion and determination. secondly, Wolves.I think they have particularly surprised me as well. Many would have thought they would be going down, but they taken many points from teams with performances that have put them where they are.

Sadly have to say I was not impressed with Man. United. Under Mourinho, I thought they would be strong title contenders, but the in fighting and disharmony within and having it played out in public like it was over the back pages for me, really set the tone and under Solskjaer, it seems United improved, but it clearly was too little too late to rescue a season to forget. Goodness know how much of a financial hit Utd will have to take in trying to get Pogba offloaded as he wants away.
Solskjaer has to clear the decks and rebuild the team in the summer and create one that can he can put his own identity on.

3) Mo Salah
The performances he has put in are worthy of him being my player of the season.

My club: Wolves
1. Had we been offered 7th place in our return season to the PL I think most if not all Wolves fans would have gladly accepted that. Nuno has established a bond with players and fans alike.
The ventures into the transfer market have, on the whole been very worthwhile with try before you buy policy used to excellent effect.
Our record against the bottom six is not great. Indeed we have dropped 22 points against such teams. Those 22 points would have us in guaranteed 3rd place and Champions League qualification. We have also consistently struggled to break down defensive minded and well organised teams.
These are areas for development next season. It must also be said however that our record against the top 6 across league and cup has been remarkably good which is obviously very pleasing.
Overall a very positive season with areas to improve as there always are.

2. Teams that have impressed me the most. I have to sit on the fence here and say both the top two.
The phenomenal consistency of both has been ridiculously good.
As a neutral to see both of them relentlessly respond to each others victories under the most intense pressure has been remarkable.

The team that has least impressed me really is Manchester United.
OGS has some major work to do in the summer I suspect.

Player of the season.
For my own team I would say Joao Moutinho. Absolute class operator.
Composure on the ball, supreme distribution, great eye for a pass, superb technique. Just a joy to watch.

Overall: Toss up between Sterling and Van Dijk. Calling it a draw Wink.

^How hard do you think it will be for Wolves to keep hold of Nuno after what he has achieved this season?

We are going to hide him in a box and not let him out apart from match days laugh.

The honest answer is I don't know. If a big enough club comes in then you never know. But the owners are very ambitious so will not want to let him leave yet I would think.

1) Liverpool. Well what more can be said, in every season bare this and last year we're pretty much champions. In some cases several games ago. Can't be too upset but also can't exactly be over the moon either. If i'm honest i didn't think we'd win or even challenge back in August so if someone said we'll finish 2nd and chase City all the way i'd have taken it just doesn't feel good at the moment.

2) Wolves have impressed me, i didn't think they’d struggle or realistically get relegated but didn't think they be a successful as they were. Top 7 is an amazing achievement. Be interesting to see how they improve next year and with the added complications of Europe next year.

As for unimpressed it has to be Utd, after years of wasteful spending and manager changing they find themselves in this position. I mean as a Liverpool fan its hilarious but it was oh soo obvious it was heading this way from the minute Red nose left. They didn't really start over from that moment, tried to buy themselves back. Ole and his bus have some serious work to do.

3) Tough one but would have to say Mo or VVD. If either had been out for any extended period of time then we wouldn't of had the year we have. Both made huge contributions over the course of the season.

I have no idea what I'm doing here but I'm here!!!

Dunfermline- started well in Betfred Cup and League but couldn't score and lost a lot of games 1-0 to finish 7th in Scottish Championship when playoffs were minimum requirement.

Arsenal- New manager but still not going to finish Top 4, might save our season with Europa League title but who knows

1 My favourite team used to be Chelsea but now i don't really have a favourite team now i just like to see how the teams do in the leagues now so i just sit on the fence with that one

2 Impressed Wolves they have some how finished in the top 10 in their first season back in the PL which is a hard thing to do and not only that reached the FA Cup semis and Europa League they have got to be the one of the best promoted teams from the Championship.

2 Unimpressed Fulham what was supposed to be a great project spending £100 million on players turned into a disaster and ended with relegation back to the Championship after only one season no wonder why Dave The Rave is pissed off.

2 For Europe if possible Impressed Tottenham and Ajax 2 teams that are small in the Champions League world some how got to the CL semis and one will be playing Liverpool in the Final it really has been the most shocking CL for ages it is great to see the big 3 are out (Bayern Munich,Barcelona and Real Madrid) normally they always get to the latter stages or win it makes a change that none of the big 3 are going to win it and someone different is going to win it.

3 Tough one i am going to go for Eden Hazard surprisingly who has always been one of the only current great Chelsea players in the Chelsea squad as all their greats have now gone so it will be hard to replace him if he leaves normally Chelsea can cope with players leaving i can't see it this time around they ain't got good enough players in their squad now. I was going to go for the big 3 Salah,Kane or Aguero but none have really been outstanding in my opinion.

So overall 1 Wolves fan (Snookered) will be Impressed with my comment and 1 Fulham Fan (Dave The Rave) will be Unimpressed with my comment lol.
