Strycova played a clever match and made far less unforced errors.
Kept making Konta play the extra shot and induced countless mistakes.

And so we say farewell to yet another chance of getting a British female singles tennis player to a final. 1977 was a hell of a long time ago and still we wait for ANYONE to make a final that Virginia Wade last won back then. I had hoped that it would happen by now, but like the 1966 World Cup(Football) we still have to wait. What's another year(as Johnny Logan once sung) before Wimbledon comes along again. I just thought that 42 years on we'd have found someone to challenge the best the in the world - we've got the players, they just can't seem to win this tournament(and yes I know Johanna Konta has won stuff this year). Oh well, here's to 2020.

I think she did well to make the quarters. Likely to be a Halep-Serena final anyway.
