Expect a lot of pressure on Joe Root once Overton the night watchman gets out. If Root fails, then England could be in real trouble because Jason Roy is a wicket waiting to fall, then we’re into the middle order which has looked brittle on more than one occasion.

Roy and Buttler are just not test class batsmen averaging 9 this series, there not even significant batsmen in county cricket I feel if they fail on this flat pitch it should be the end of there stay in the side for a bit or certainly for Buttler I would like to see Roy to get another 4 tests in at nr5 maybe he can still prove my suspicion wrong.

Let them know men did this

A word for the passing of Abdul Qadir!! Terribly sad day, and at too young an age (yet again). For my money, the best leggie after Warney (in fact , in some ways, you could argue, surpasses the great Shane and in an era that seemed to have far greater purpose - a better thing for it too) Look at the stats from a bowler who played in an era where Test cricket was played far less than in SKW era, and you can only imagine the wickets he would have taken had he played as often. His average too was among the best!!

I hope Sky dig out some of his best performances from the archives (hand them over BBC - WE own them) to be included in an appropriate tribute to him!

Nicely poised I'd say at but a lot depends how much the rain will affect the pitch

Bairstow clean bowled yet again trying to drive.

What’s the definition of insanity again?

After the first innings Australia lead England by 196 runs.

Both their openners are out for 16 runs, Smith to the crease.

Can England get him out cheaply.

I'm praying for England to rescue this game as I have a ticket for the final test at the Oval next Saturday and it would be good to have a chance of winning the ashes back

I envy you 'Secret' If I had the opportunity to go to any test (there are reasons) I wouldn't care if the Ashes were 'live' at that point, or not!! I get though, that a winner take all final match would have some atmosphere! - barmy army aside.
