Anthony Joshua V Andy Ruiz2 - Chat & Discussion

With 7th December just over two weeks away (I will post poll next Saturday), It will be probably the most long awaited rematch fight of 2019 in Saudia Arabia as AJ challenges Andy Ruiz to win back his heavyweight titles he lost so spectacularly in June. My heart very much wants AJ to win but my head say Ruiz could put an end to AJ's career.

watching the "the Gloves are Off" debate on Y/tube which featured Nelson, Froch, Haye, Bellew, & Mailgnaggli debating where AJ where wrong in the first fight and most of them said that AJ has to find a different strategy to beat Ruiz but very much hoped AJ would win. My big fear is how much stronger Ruiz will come back at AJ if AJ was to put him down a second time? And Will AJ freeze in Rd 7? I do think AJ has to find a chink somewhere in Ruiz's armour that he can exploit but if AJ wants the fight to go the distance he has to dictate the fight from first bell to last.

Thoughts guys?

Watching the interview aj did on sky yesterday i gotta say he doesn't look right...he has fear in his eyes and just seems like he has to much pressure on him i think he will bottle it and lose again

RUIZ inside 7, Joshua is too static and easy to hit, Ruiz fast hands will blow AJ away again. I hope I'm wrong as I'd love to see a summer Wembley clash with Joshua v Fury, but I think AJ has mentally been beaten before the rematch very much like Prince Naseem Hamed after his first loss.

What was both your first reaction to the first fight?

The first fight i thought was just an other easy fight for aj before a showdown with wilder but i was wrong lol at the start of that fight aj looked beaten already... i think his mind was elsewhere

They did say in thr debate I watched, that it as possible that the change of opponent after Miller failed his drugs test was one thing that probably didn't help AJ

I thought Joshua underestimated Ruiz, but having seen a few Ruiz fights, especially the Parker fight, its clear Ruiz is a very capable fighter. I think there were camp issues and possibly the rumours circulating during the camp may be true. Ruiz is def too quick for AJ I do feel that the speed which Ruiz threw punches def was something AJ had probably never anticipated, I would not be surprised if Ruiz has conditioned himself for this one in build and stature so that he is more lighter on his feet, and that is another thing that would concern me with AJ for this rematch. Whether he has prepared to match Ruiz's hand speed as well as possibly a far quicker moving Ruiz. If Ruiz starts fast there is ever possibility that the fight would be over way before Round 6. If AJ was to lose this re match then I would say, it is pretty much game and career over, there would not be much rom for him to move after a second successive loss to Ruiz.

After seeing how Ortiz got hit by Wilder on Saturday I can see that the only way Wilder Joshua will ever happen is if Joshua changed management. I respect Eddie, but do think he would be even more reluctant to pitch AJ in the same ring with Wilder atm, even if AJ DID beat Ruiz. The one thing I think that AJ has to get back is that fearless factor and the KI (Killer Instinct) factor. When Ruiz put him down first time I know he was concussed, but he just didn't look or fight the AJ we have come to know thst punch took a hell of a lot of the fear of fighting him away.

So do you think if AJ is well beaten in the rematch, they should come clean about what really happened in that first fight training camp and more importantly about this alleged knockdown/knockout in sparring?
