Eurovision 2022

Eurovision have announced that they don't plan to ban Russia from this years event.

They said "The Eurovision Song Contest is a non-political cultural event which unites nations and celebrates diversity through music.”

The event is due to be run on May 8th in Turin.

Letting them score nul points will really show them who's boss.

They should allow the Ukrainian entry to just stand in silence for 3 minutes. They'd win it by a landslide.

I was thinking that the Russian entry should just be meet silence. No clapping, no booing, just silence.

It's Eurovision weekend.
It's always interesting to see the politics of Europe unfolding.
Who will the Serbians vote for now that Russia have been refused an entry.
How Cyprus will give their votes for Greece and how Greece will give their votes to Cyprus.

Ukraine are near enough guaranteed the victory (they have already gone through the semis). Will Serbia even qualify for the finals.

But the UK have been the bad boys of Europe (mostly thanks to Boris) and we have managed to notch up the bottom slots for the last couple of years, even when the records should have ended up in the top half of the table.
But this year with what is happening in Europe the UK is being seen in a different light. Sam Ryder is being quoted as being one of the favourates to win (after Ukraine). Sam's also liked for his casual approach to the show.

Goes to show that this contest is more politic that record/performance

^I think it loses sight of what it is isupposed to be about sometimes. If sam doesn't win it will probably make more people think we're better off without it

Funding of it has been explained before so no the result won’t and in fact the audience figures across various BBC channels are respectable
