Ultimately France - as expected - ran out winners. The scoreboard would suggest comfortable, but Uruguay were magnificent in reality, and more than held their own. Handling errors let them down, and a little naivety in game play (not much though) cost them! They come away with much praise, while France - yes had a decent number of personnel changes to the team - come away from this match with a lot to improve upon. Much of that though, again, was down to how the Uruguayans thwarted their intentions

I can't understand why Tom Curry was sent of for a head contact yet there was a French player and previously a South African player who did simular yet only received 10 minutes off the pitch.
The 'bunker' said that there was mitigating circumstances with the last two but they looked identical to me. There's such a wide gap in being sent off and banned for matches and just having 10 minutes off the match on a marginal decision.

^ Agreed. They said last night that the mitigation was the Uruguayan was going lower but surely the fact that the French player hit him with his upper arm in his head and made no attempt to wrap his arms so was not attempting a legal challenge should have meant he was sent off ans subsequently banned.

The All Blacks doing a number on Namibia in the first half tonight! Perspective though, with the horrific injury to the Namibian player who looks, for all the world, like he has snapped his ankle! So far too, Luke Pearce (always take a deep breath now when I see it is him and his school master pedantic ways) has refereed with clarity and without being overly officious - even with communication - credit where due!

Absolutely agree hornball even didn't show any replays and lukey made sure both sides to step away and give the medical team a lot of room and space
Fingers crossed for his recovery im sure he'll get the best care
Aside from that the head on head shots have been brutal to watch yet errors have been made by the officials including the tmo and bunker it's trying to ruin what's been a good world cup so far

Todays games saw Samoa easy winners against Chile, and Wales overcome Portugal. Didn't see either match due to the metro cup final in the cricket, but Wales seemingly were pushed a little?? Ireland now finish the day against Tonga. Again, tough opponents in the physical stakes - take no prisoners whatsoever - but should be straight forward for Ireland.

Wales were pretty average once again needing added time to get the bonus point
Whilst atm the penalty count and errors are annoying Tonga Ireland up 24-6

Australia are beaten by Fiji Smile
The Eddie Jones magic doesn't seem to be working for them.
