Classic Films - *Kal-El* - 30-03-2010 13:20 Thought i would start up a thread on classic films, the first film i'll start off with is the first terminator film not only did it have a good storyline, but very well acted and at the time very special effect's considering these days we have cgi to do effects these days and it still holds its own. Arnie was perfect as the terminator showing no mercy or emotions, even he didn't have much to say in the whole film lol, but it worked well. The other actors in the film like michael biehn, linda hamilton, paul winfield and lance henriksen work very well in this film and play there part nicely. Even the deleted scenes are brilliant which even set things which happen in the future terminator. I hope they release this on blu ray soon and do a good job with the transfer and extras, this film deserves to be on blu ray RE: Classic Films - CFCBLUE - 30-03-2010 16:13 Platoon - One of my fave war films, with great performances by Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger and Charlie Sheen. This film totally captured the true horrors of the Vietnam War. Trading Places - A great comedy. I"ve seen this film untold times and it still makes me laugh. RE: Classic Films - *Kal-El* - 31-03-2010 12:29 couple more films that i think are classics are: Back To The future, great film little bit of sci fi, comedy and even a little romance. Well acted too, i think this was one of Michael J Fox's best films his ever done and for a time travel film it doesn't have that much effort shots in the whole, didn't realise that till i watched the making of the film. Can't wait for this and other two films to appear on Blu Ray one day. Ghostbusters one of my all time fav films, this film is timeless. Doesn't matter how many times i watch this film i keep cracking up and jokes are just as fresh as when it first came out. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson and who could forget William Atherton as walter peck. One of the classic line's in the whole is where there in the mayor officer, Ray says 'everything was fine till dickless turned up" and the mayor says " is this true?" and venkman says "yes its true this guy has no dick, well thats what i heard". I know the effects have aged but that doesn't spoil the enjoyment of the film. Really wanted to get this o Blu Ray but i keep hearing the picture transfer isn't very good and its very grainy which is a real shame. I even liked ghostbusters 2 i know not many people liked it, no one way was it as good as the first one but still very funny and i liked the track on our own from the same film classic track too. Am looking for big things in ghostbusters 3. RE: Classic Films - *Kal-El* - 31-03-2010 12:29 Had to put this on here lol: RE: Classic Films - *Kal-El* - 31-03-2010 12:32 RE: Classic Films - *Kal-El* - 31-03-2010 12:37 Had To put this on here taken from Ghostbusters 2 and once again Peter Venkman aka Bill Murray steals the show lol: RE: Classic Films - Captain Vimes - 01-04-2010 13:48 The Great Escape Especially Donald Pleasance's performance. RE: Classic Films - SOCATOA - 01-04-2010 14:03 I watched "The African Queen" the other day and must say i really enjoyed it!! Well worth a look!!!! RE: Classic Films - Captain Vimes - 01-04-2010 18:05 RE: Classic Films - skully - 02-04-2010 10:26 To Catch a Thief. A classic Hitchcock film so you know it's gonna be good. Well worth watching if you spot it on one of the movie channels, I highly recommend it. Grace Kelly...stunning! |
