PSN Down - *Kal-El* - 26-04-2011 18:39

For all you PSN owners you aware that PSN is down, now whats more confusing is that Sony don't seem to have a clue whats going on or even filling people as whats going on. There's mixed saying its been hacked or that its a dodge update. So far its been 6 days and were no clearer as whats going on. I think Sony has a bad job informing us as to whats going on or when its gonna be fixed, i feel sorry for any one that wants to play there games online or those who are PSN+ owners, Sony in my book have handled this really badly even tho its not there fault as to whats gone on. Am curious as to what Sony is gonna do once its back up i.e with plus owners getting a a extra month or a free download, i think Sony as a gesture of goodwill so give something back for the time its been offline. All of the consoles seem to have problems with the 360 having the red ring of death and even more shocking even still with the slimline one even tho this problem should have been fixed by now but at least there customer services was a lot better then sony, my mate had the red ring of death they came and collected and he got given extra months on xbox live and a free downloadable game. I remember a few years ago the N64 had a faulty power cable not only did Nintendo send packaging for it but they also paid for it too and as a gesture of good will you could choose a free game like f-zeo or mario kart 64 but the time i found out about the games were all gone but they gave me money off at the time the Gameboy pocket so i ended up getting for 40 quid instead of 80 quid or so at the time, Sony i last heard are rewriting the code for PSN but have no idea when it will be back up and running. So come Sony sort yourself's out.

sony have now said that someone has hacked the playstation network and now sony are saying that personal info including e-mail address passwords your house address credit card numbers might have been stolen

Its a tad annoying but theres other stuff to do apart from the ps3 but will feel bad for all those students who have easter holiday and cant go online to play games with their mates. Rumour has it that George Hotz who was famous for hacking the iphone/ipod (jailbreak) was behind a series of hacks last year on the psn server getting into their root folders whether thats true or not hopefully sony will come out and explain it. I dont think sony will give much refunds since they lose a lot of business if they start handing out free monthly subscription to all the psn members. Lets hope we get a clearer explaination soon

Sony fucked up big time, am lucky that am getting a new card as my name faded at the back and will have a different number. From what i have told by my bank they said not to worry as theres a small chance it could happen but all the banks are in talks and if anything does happen everyone will be protected. What makes me laugh is why did they have to wait nearly a week they say that its only yesterday that they knew but yet they closed it from last week and started rebuilding it and you only do that if one if you've been hacked or part of the site has crashed. Its pure customer service from them in staying so tight lipped about it. Sony are gonna have a lot of work to do in getting peoples trust back after this. Its Sony's fault as they had it coming they were too big headed in thinking they were untouchable, why on earth did they have information all in one place wouldn't it have been better to have the information broken up so that if it did get hacked that the information would be useless, it would even better if they the hackers to point out the flaws as the professionals don't seem to know what there doing. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if its PS3, 360, PC or even a Smart phone these people will find a way of hacking into these things but its about making a big and serious affect in dealing with it and provided good customer care support and Sony ain't neither one of them so i hope its a big lesson learn't by them after this matter sorted.

i bet now the sales of the ps3 might drop due to this cock up by sony and sony not telling the truth about the psn network been hacked

RE: PSN Down - *Kal-El* - 27-04-2011 12:44

Bet it does and seeing as this week nintendo admitted to working on a new console that is more powerful then either the PS3 and 360 and its coming out early 2012 and the big game possible coming out for it might be Grand Theft Auto 5, then sony is fucked. There sales will drop a lil but there shares even more especially that Sony has been losing money for years world wide.

You've probably already seen this, but here is Sony's explanation of their timeframe:

I have both the PS3 and Xbox I have always preferred my PS3 it is a genuine entertainment system. Kalel is right however they got a lot of ass licking to do. One thing I am going to do is get a pre paid card for any and all online transactions. I just don't trust the internet anymore.if it can happen to Sony then quite frankly it can happen to anyone.

Yeah, I'm thinking they should give everyone £10 free to spend in the PSN online shop zone

Same thing with me now pre paid card from now on with me too, your right Sony should give people credit or free downloadable game. Also they should give PSN+ owners a few extra months and with the free members a months sub to PSN+ and a downloadable. I hope these companies realise that no one is safe from hacking and they don't think it can't happen to them, hopefully from now on they all who they be will extra carful.
