Bulk downloading of images - jack29g - 12-06-2011 14:11
I was wondering if anyone was aware of any software that allows the download of images from a web page in bulk where the images are downloaded as the full size versions instead of just thumbnails?
Ive tried bulk image downloader to download whole albums on the donna duke website but so far i have only managed to get the small thumbnail versions of the pictures.

I read the guide and its true you can filter the results to only get linked images. however the problem im having is that when i scan the images in the galleries im trying to download, only the thumbnails are recognized. it doesn't pick up on the links to the full size images.

As a long time user of BID (I just wish I had discovered it earlier) I have found that with some Forums/Subscription Sites I belong to I have to save the actual Webpage then use the 'Load from File' function and select the Web page I've saved.BID then downloads the full sized Pics.
It may also ask you for the Sites password.

I use IE so click on 'Page' on the Command Bar then 'Save As' which
brings up a Pop Up Box then choose ' Webpage Complete' from the 'save as type' options and save the page to My Docs or wherever you choose. (I assume other Browsers have something similar)
Then use the BID 'load from file' option to open the file you've saved.
You should then be able to download the images.

I use google chrome and have just tried what you explained. It seamed as though it worked, all the thumbnail titles appear in the preview box, however the pictures themselves dont - there are just little blank squares where the previews should be and when i click on them to bring the picture up i get a message saying image not found.
just tried it again with IE and the same thing happens.

Sorry it didn't work mate tbh I'm not sure what else to suggest.
I use BID ( both methods) on a daily basis and download 100's of pics without any real trouble.
Prehaps one last thought(s):
Are you using the latest version of BID ?
Or have you tried the Option to download 'All Images' for both methods?
Hope you can find the solution.

I've used ImageHost-Grabber for Firefox before, it works well with places like urlgalleries etc, although I do believe it depends on the coding of the page as to whether it works successfully.
