Olympics - eccles - 09-08-2011 20:41 Like everyone else Im looking forward to the Olympics. Does anyone else have a favourite sport or a picture capturing a special moment? Here are some of mine. RE: Olympics Fun - Captain Vimes - 09-08-2011 21:00 Hmmm I can see what Olympic tickets you applied for eccles. My favourite was the 1988 Hockey Olympic Final. I had no real passion for hockey and yet my new born son, the little sod who I would have gratefully thown out of the window because he wouldn't stop squaking, meant that I was trying to rock him to sleep during the small hours of the day. So I was prviledged to watch GB beat Australia in the semi-final and then the Germans in the final. Horrible, little Englander mentality I know but give me credit I was suffering from sleep deprivation. Still I love that hockey team from 1988 and no I couldn't give a fuck about hockey in this country now but beautiful memories of a fantastic team and a horrible child. C'mon Sean Kerly. RE: Olympics Fun - eccles - 09-08-2011 21:17 A couple of pics didnt load. That should be fixed now. In 2008 the opening game was Australia vs Brazil Womens Beach Volleyball. It really kindled my intererest in sport. RE: Olympics Fun - bigguy01 - 09-08-2011 21:33 i wonder if prince harry is at the world championship beach volley at horse gaurds this week. thats an idea the babechannels doing their own olympics. Ones that involve plenty of jumping up and down? At halftime a portly middle aged gentleman could chase them round the stadium just as they were halfway through changing their costumes. To add a touch of class it should be accompanied by the national anthem of Yaketty Yak. I think we would all pay to see that. RE: Olympics Fun - eccles - 13-08-2011 01:32 Nice to see a dignified money raising scheme: Volleyballers' bikini bottom ads criticised by feminist The decision by Britain's top-ranked female beach volleyball team to advertise on their bikini bottoms has been criticised by a feminist. Bath-based Zara Dampney and Shauna Mullin teamed up with a bookmaker to trial barcodes on the backs of their swimsuit bottoms in a sponsorship deal. When the matrix barcodes are photographed with a smartphone, the user is taken to the company's website. Sian Norris said there was still a lack of seriousness around women's sports. RE: Olympics Fun - seth - 14-08-2011 19:00 Well the 100m. Also like the long distance races such as the 5000 and 10,000m. And I like the Olympic swimming. Looking forward to the world championships in a couple of weeks. Very entertaining RE: Olympics 2012 - TammysNo1Fan - 05-09-2011 07:00 After much deliberation, the UK Olympics Emblem has been revealed.... |
