British Touring Car Championship - -PJ- - 10-06-2012 20:08

Just wondering if there's any BTCC fans on here?

Todays round at Oulton Park was eventful to say the least, with a great fightback from Jason Plato after retiring from the first race before it even began!

Driver of the day for me was Dan Welch, shame he was punted off by Jackson in Race 3 as he was on for another good result in a car that clearly isn't the best.

i watch it on itv 4 if its on. this weeks round is only available in highlights on tuesday 4.30pm itv4 thanks the bloody fucking shitty tennis instead of some decent motor racing where cars get mangled instead they show a sport that is mainly grunts.

shame that formulea reanult is not on this year due not enough teams entering. the organisers are hopeful that next year it will be back. they had some decent young drivers which could one day challenge of a f1 seat. damon hill's son jake has potential he struggled last year with the qualifying but come race day gets into the points/top5.

I watched the last race online, think they showed it on ITV4 later on after the tennis had finished too.

I personally found Formula Renault to be the most boring of the support races, most of the drivers have moved over to the other European Formula Renault championships, Josh Hill got a podium at Hockenheim in the Northern European Cup a few weeks ago IIRC.

I was there all weekend.

Oulton Park rarely disappoints and the 3 BTCC races were no exception. Plato's performance in race 2 was superb, as was that of Dan Welch (who has a very nice grid girl by the way Wink ). Jason is sometimes his own worst enemy but when he keeps it clean he is undoubtedly one of the best in the business.

I did a little dance when i first heard the single seaters were off the TOCA package. they were always out of place as it's a Tin Top programme....if i had my way the Historic Grand Touring Cars would be on the bill...but they would steal the show Big Grin

Next up is Croft. The speed of the MG will give Plato a big advantage, but watch for the BMW's...

I'm sure some of you will also be familiar with Paige Robbins (i think she's appeared on GSL recently) who has been a Team Dynamics / Honda Racing grid girl for a few years. One of the nicest girls you will ever meet, even when performing near impossible feats of gymnastic ability at car shows.

If not, Google is your friend Wink

i think they should have top gear v fifth gear races.

the winner of each race should drive a people carrier for next race.

Dan Welch's grid girl Georgia is very nice indeed Wink

She's even nicer in the flesh, so to speak. Not easy holding a camera steady when pointing it at some of the BTCC girls Wink

I felt sorry for her at Donington during the autograph signings, she looked freezing cold.

It looks like this weekend at Croft could see some "interesting" weather... Surprised

Luckily she's a North East Lass. A spot of rain won't bother her too much Wink
