Many members will be aware that the forum experienced a service interruption last night of about three and a half hours. The reason for this, without bothering with the technical details, is that the number of people online here suddenly zoomed to almost 800 and the site in it's present hosting couldn't cope.

I'm sure most members hate service interruptions as much as Admin does and accordinly the site is to be moved to a nice new home where it will be able to cope with 800 or more users quite easily and we therefore won't experience these annoying service interruptions (that's going to cost me, isn't it? :rolleyesSmile

That's the good news, that the forum's future will be secure in a nice new home with room to grow. The bad news is that moving the site is going to mean a further service interuption whilst the move takes place, but hopefully this will only be a short interruption and inconvenience will be minimal.

any idea when the move will take place admin?

RE: Service Interruption - admin. - 19-03-2009 22:59

The move should take place within the next 24 hours. (I can't be more specific than that at the moment).

A complication is that the domain name needs to resolve to the new home, so after the move takes place it may take some hours before http://www.babeshows.co.uk resolves to the forum. However, if members enter through http://www.babechannels.co.uk they should be able to make their way into the forum from there, even if the babeshows domain hasn't yet propagated and isn't yet resolving to the forum.

Just to reiterate the point about the domain name and to get the information across to as many people as possible, the following announcement has been added to every forum:

IMPORTANT NOTICE

UK Babe Channels is moving to a new home!

Please note that whilst the move is in progress there will be several hours in which you will not be able to access the forum using http://www.babeshows.co.uk

However, for most of that time you will still be able to reach the forum by using http://www.babechannels.co.uk and clicking through to the forum from there.
