Identify Old Channel Help - JuanKerr - 15-11-2013 07:26

I'm aiming this thread at those viewers who have been watching these shows from the very start, or thereabouts, because this goes way back.

Back before the shows all migrated to the 900s (I think the few that were around back then ended up in the 200s mostly) there was one that sneaked its way in, up in the 400s, I think. I don't know how long it had been around by the time I stumbled across it, quite by accident, but I do know it was very short lived.

The 'set' was pretty much non-existent, just a big square bed with a curtain behind, and a static camera positioned unusually far from the action (it wasn't Hotel Voyeur or Babestar).

I remember there were a few 'wow' instances and thinking that they were probably getting away with it because no one knew of its existence (silly logic, I know), but this leads me to believe the channels were going through one of their early 'tamed downed' periods - which explains my surprise at some of the stuff I saw.

Sorry I can't give any more info that that, but if anyone thinks they know the name of the show I'd appreciate it.

That could be Motors TV, a show called Fast Girls. I believe it only ran in 2003 and didn't last beyond that year. But it's pretty much fallen down the internet wormhole, there's no videos or caps that I could find.

Motors TV was ch 416 at the time. The way I remember it, the set and screen layout of Fast Girls were very similar to Babestation's, and Taylor Mackenzie and other babes appeared on both shows at different times. It must've been made by the same company. But Fast Girls' background was blue instead of purple Surprised Like on Babestation, the girls were only on a small part of the screen - hard to imagine now, but at the start there wasn't even a full screen option, and each of the three girls only appeared in a little box, with viewers' text messages taking up over half of the screen Smile All in 4:3 as well... Later the pictures got a bit better and bigger, and viewers were no longer forced to masturbate to a lady the size of a mouse.

Oh, there is a surviving framegrab after all - Sara and Adora from Prague, capped by Forum Style in the "Babecast memories" thread. There was a video, but then Megaupload got destroyed.

[Image: praguel03.jpg] < We have high production values here on Fast Firls

I know you know most of this already, JuanKerr, I'm just dumping all the info I found into this thread in time for my upcoming book, Fast Girls: A Warning from History (I really hope this is the channel you meant BTW laugh JuanKerr, I actually remember your unforgettable name from Babestation, if that was you sending the texts.)

I have to say, I don't remember Fast Girls being any more explicit than Babestation or Babecast, or having different camera placement. But maybe there was. According to Vostok 1, Fast Girls "evolved from a show on motors tv where girls in bikinis would race scalextric cars." Uh, no idea. But that doesn't sound very entertaining. I guess it makes better TV with Scalextric than with video games... Didn't Game Network shut down due to lack of interest in things that aren't boobs?

A couple of people said Motors TV also used to simulcast Babestation at this time, maybe at times when Fast Girls wasn't on. I'm not sure how the two shows overlapped with each other - BS added an extra late hour, and Babecast was a "sister channel" too. After hours Fast Girls put on some webcam shows from Prague or elsewhere in Europe, like Sara and Adora in the pic, and viewers could call them.

I found a nasty sexist forum discussing the channels at the time, including:

Saber Wrote:It is all run by the same people, I watch it often, they sometimes have the same girls, often at 2am just as babestation/babecast are finishing, they all get together on the same screen.

Fast Girls
Babe Cast
Babe Station

Fast Girls wasn't the only freaky show on Motors TV. The year before, I remember seeing a whole bunch of sexy adverts for (I guess) French sex lines, hours and hours of them, late one night. Dunno if it was on regularly. Usually short ads, but one of them showed a woman playing with her minky for 5 or 10 minutes, a bit like a Sexysat TV show but with a moving camera and tasteful. I was amazed. Apparently Motors TV was regulated by the French authorities, not Ofcom, so they could get away with more... I dunno.

Fast Girls might have ended in June 2003 when Motors TV went off air temporarily, or maybe a few months later, if it came back at all.

Motors TV's name came up in this thread about the first Bang Babes ads, but they might've been on Fight Network instead.

Big Grin What a fantastic post! It feels like I put a Private Detective on the case Big Grin

Unfortunately, I don't think this was it. I'm almost certain it was full screen, but my memory could be fuzzed, as, like you so rightly say, fullscreen hadn't been introduced back then. I distinctly remember the exaggerated distance the camera was from the bed, and wishing they would move it in.

I think this one was so obscure there's virtually no chance of identifying it, but thank you very much for your efforts.

By the way, I do remember Babestation's JuanKerr texter, but I assure you it is not I.

RE: Identify Old Channel Help - Forum Style - 16-11-2013 03:35

I was just viewing that particular disc, to see if I started recording while the channel name/number was still onscreen, but no.

Yes, Fast Girls did start off as a programme where there was a giant Scalextric track set up. But, if my memory serves me well, members of the public [usually unattractive men] drove the "cars" - the women were only involved in resetting the cars on the track if they spun off and [more to the point] stripping off if their respresentative failed to secure a victory for their team. I used to have some of that show on tape, presumably because someone I liked at that time was one of the girls, but I dumped it in the big VHS>DVD conversion.

The version of Fast Girls in the cap of Adora and Sarah was associated with Babestation [the presenter in the white outfit in the box at the bottom left is Leah Jaye, who was still at the Babestation studios] and did happen later when Babestation and Late Babe went off air for the night. I can't remember which channel it was on but I do know that I've got recordings of Adora from Babestation and Babecast chronologically prior to this one, so it's unlikely to have been from their respective channels and, as has been claimed, somewhere else on SKY.

As for the channel you were thinking of Juan, drawing a blank here. To the best of my memory, none of the early live channels were full-screen. Babestation, FreeSexTV Live, Babecast, Bang Babes, and Babeworld all had presenters in little boxes for quite a while, only going full-screen temporarily or at the end of the show - where they usually failed to do the thing that they'd received 50 texts begging for them to do for the previous few hours! I can gather together a collection of my earliest caps from the babechannels and see if any of them ring a bell?

RE: Identify Old Channel Help - modelflat - 16-11-2013 12:02

Private detective?! No I believe I'm a little more thorough than those detective chaps. Yeah, Fast Girls did sound wrong for your description, Juan. Fast Girls is obscure now, but it wasn't at the time, and this mystery show sounds really short-lived. Even so, you can guarantee there'll have been an argument on DigitalSpy between people who loved it and people who hated it.

More about Motors TV's Scalextric/stripping show here - it was called Racing Strip.

The Wrestling Channel/TWC/Fight Network began in March 2004 and often showed sexy ads for phone services (the original Bang Babes show). Like Motors TV, they were prepared to try different shows with boobs on them, with no relevance to the sport they were meant to be covering. How strange Huh

As well as Bang Babes ads, at one time TWC was also running some half-hour teasing videos with soft erotic scenes that didn't go anywhere. Not sure what they were selling or advertising, but there were these two "bored housewives" playing with each other strictly above the equator, and this dominatrix dominating a girl with a cat o' 9 tails, strictly whipping only the table and never the girl. The kind of porn MediawatchUK would approve of.

Maybe TWC also tried some live erotic shows of its own at some point - it's the type of channel that was open to the idea anyway - they were young and needed the money... the Wrestling Channel did show some Babestation or Babestation 2 in May 2004 (simulcast with Hollywood TV apparently).

In case this jogs your memory at all Juan, these were the numbers for the sports channels on Sky in August 2003:

401 Sky Sports 1
402 Sky Sports 2
403 Sky Sports 3
404 Sky Sports Xtra
406 MUTV
408 Sky Sports news
412 Eurosport GB
413 Eurosportnews
416 Motors TV*
418 attheraces
420 NASN
422 Extreme Sports*
427 Chelsea TV
433 Premiership+
435 Setanta Sport 1
436 Setanta Sport 2

440 onwards was the music channels. After May 2004 some different numbers were used as they reshuffled channels including Motors TV and Wrestling Channel:

410 - British Eurosport
411 - Eurosport News
413 - Motors TV
415 - attheraces
417 - NASN
419 - Extreme Sports Channel
421 - Chelsea TV
423 - The Golf Channel UK
425 - I Sports TV
427 - The Wrestling Channel

I-Sports TV had some connection with Get Lucky TV, which (at least later) showed Babestation - see here: "Avago, Game In TV, I-Sports TV, Nation217 AND now Get Lucky TV" ... "They are linked through the Digital TV Group". But I don't know if I-Sports ever showed anything naughty.

As for the other JuanKerr, alas...

The same way that letters pages in magazines and even newspapers are made up by the staff when things are slow and they need to fill space. Full names and addresses are never used to JT of Essex or Disgruntled of Epping Forest or Stud Boy of Chipping Ongar could be anyone. This does actually happen, believe me. bladewave I cannot belive there are so many sad people around that text these banal message in anyway. Bounce

i really cannot understand why the itc havent acted upon thsi channel at all!!!
Surely they arnt allowed to broadcast suvch material, without it having parental restrictions??
Still, good to see that thay are trying new types of programming i guess.

Friendly TV's so funny. They put on a summer 2003 show called Free Sex TV (classy name!) to big ratings, and they expected not to get slammed by the ITC on four counts? Ah well, at least they tried. They still did better than Sexysat TV. (Friendly was on 268 or something btw, not in the 400s.)

RE: Identify Old Channel Help - Digital Dave - 16-11-2013 13:13

From your description I think I know which channel this might be - Girl Fever. It only lasted a few weeks because the studio got burgled and all the kit was stolen. The channel owner wasn't insured so he had to close down!

The reason I know about the channel is that it was featured in a brilliant documentary on BBC3 in 2006 called 'Porno, Preachers and Peddlers', part of the 'Welcome To My World' series.

The documentary featured Girl Fever, TVX, Revelation TV and a shopping channel. I've tried in vain to find a torrent of the programme as it was very entertaining, so if anyone can help I'd be grateful! The Director was Richard Macer.

Edit: I've found a DS thread which confirms that Girl Fever broadcast in December 2005 and was on Sky Channel 685 late at night.

Thanks to everyone for your continued investigations Big Grin

Dave, I remember GF and indeed the documentary, but the one I'm thinking of goes much further back. My memory of it is so faded that it might have even been way up in the 600s.

I just remember thinking at the time, "Hehe, I bet I'm the only one who knows about this one..."

Looks like I might have been right, although I think I did share it with one of the first babeshow-dedicated forums that was knocking about back then, called The Independent Babe Channel Forum or something.

Found that forum, but it's long dead.

I still have some footage from Free Sex TV's first night [featuring Sammi & Michelle] and the majority of the complaints seemed to be from perverts texting in that the show didn't do exactly what it said on the tin ... like it was actually going to be free sex on their tv's! #dickheads

I was a member of that forum lol. I've found my old password, logged in and it's still all there. If you can let me know your user name I'll do a search of your posts.

Incidentally, the founder/admin of that site was none other than the banned (from here) StanTheMan! His username there was BillyWizz1.
