Just about the worst possible timing, 2 days before the season starts.

David Moyes spotted in Croydon singing Glad all Over

It's incredible that it should come to this and at this time! Less than 48 hours to go! If Tony Pulis and the board had such serious disgreements you'd have thought they'd have worked out that they couldn't work together before now. Another example of how anything can happen in football.

pulis will probably end up at newcastle, southampton or spurs by xmas

So Pulis left because he had become frustrated by a summer of transfer inactivity, and believed his position was untenable with the current structure at Selhurst Park.

Not a good place for Palace to be before the session starts

The timing is crazy of course, but it appears that the relationship between Pulis and Parish had been strained for some time, starting as far back as the January transfer window. So as it turns out that the first manager to go this season is last season's Premier League manager of the year.

After relegation seemed a certainty last season, being well and truly bottom in November, Tony Pulis took over guided Crystal Palace to 11th place in the table. As a Palace fan, I always had a feeling that somehow it was all too good to be true. Now we're back to reality again!
