The officals are going to the video reply a lot in the openning England v Fiji match.
The ref gave Fiji a try and then decided to revue it just before the kick after seeing that the ball had been dropped before it was grounded on the big screen.

what many people might have thought was a pushover game for England certainly hasn't been that. I had thought the try Fiji didn't score, I definitely thought it was.
Fiji to their credit have made England think hard and have made sure England don't play their natural game

Matt Dawson thought that this would be tight game for 1st 60 minutes but that England's fitness would tell in last 10-20 mins

Having given Fiji try I don't see how Ref can change his mind after seeing the replay on the screen

I have to give Fiji the credit for making a tight game this time around. Looking a different team from when we walloped them 54 something about 12-18 months ago

Blimey that last try was a close one sevrel camera angles showed no try only 1 that counted just grazed the line Wink

think Fiji played better than most people thought I thought it wasn't a try England's fourth try so that will be a talking point how that counted I don't know.
England have won but they have tougher games ahead where they have to be a lot more aware
the TMO I think made an error with that last try

That was a bruising encounter. Lots of areas where England need to improve.

Regarding the last try. Why wasn't there a camera looking along the line.

RE: Rugby World Cup 2015 - lovebabes56 - 18-09-2015 22:24

maybe they should use goal line technology in such a way so that if the ball is touching the line it can count the last angle certainly made it look as though it didn't make the line

Fully expect comfortable wins for Ireland, South Africa and France today though France Italy will be more like a Six Nations game and Tonga v Georgia should be quite a stern test for either side but thinking Tonga could be very physical for the like of Georgia
South should steam roller Japan for a record score and I guess Canada could be the outside bet for an upset, but I should expect Ireland to have too much firepower for them.

Pleased to come away with the 5 points, I'm pretty confident that either Australia or Wales will drop a point against Fiji. Sign of a good side that can go up another gear on the last 20 mins though not particulary impressed with the overall performance. I suppose have to wait till see how other teams fair against Fiji before passing verdict.
