anyone still following 24? - firekind - 21-05-2009 16:41

this is the only season i have watched on the tv. i rented the rest and watched each season in a week or so. this could be why i am finding this season a total drag lol

i am finding it a major let down for the following reasons.

1 - the woman president. the president has always been an interesting character. from david palmer (i could believe him to be an honourable good guy president) to charles logan (he seemed a more realistic president to me but was as enjoyable to watch as palmer). now we have this granny running things? thats bollocks.

2 - the much hyped no ctu. yeah instead we have the fbi building instead. its pretty much just the same only with brighter lighting.

3 - kim fucking bauer. aargh. the second you see her name in the titles you must wonder what drama she will get herself into next. she really needs to be killed off but i dont think that twist will ever happen.

4 - darth tony. i am probably confused but why did he blow up the poison instead of just letting the rockets fire? to steal one canister? that didnt make sense to me. the double twist of him actually being bad was predictable but it was still very well done. they ripped the sopranos off when tony killed christopher though.

5 - chloe. seriously why? atleast change her character a little.

6 - the reboot. apparently this season is a reboot for the series after the poor season 6 (i saw nothing wrong with season 6). well to me its been poor but thats compaired to the previous seasons.

still a brilliantly made show but i think it has done everything it can do and should just end.

i think the best thing 24 ever did was the ryan chappelle death. i found that quite disturbing and actually quite gut wrenching. that wont ever be topped

I'm still following it,i agree with you it's not been the best season it took a lot for me to swallow how they brought Tony back from the dead,i think the writers that week had nicked the plot of a supervillians resurrection from the dead from a comicbook.I also can't get my head around the woman president simply because everytime they do a close up of her face all i can think about is she's a cabbage patch doll.I guess the good thing to come out of this series is the super-hot agent Walker a female Jack Bauer. For me the best season of 24 was season 4 deffo, even though Logan was a total Nixon ripoff it had more twists than a crate of corkscrews.I don't think it's the end though i sure i read somewhere that Kiefer Sutherland has signed up for two more series ( providing he can stay out of jail lol ).

24 is still the best show on tv. I think the next season is the last one. It will take place in NYC.

Yeah still following it.

I like the presidents daughter, she is the most interesting character to emerge from this season.

Unrealistic president, any world leader needs to the bottle to sometimes make difficult choices. The two Black presidents seem to be the only owns prepared to take the tough decisions.

Only reason they did the female president is because of Hilary Clinton.

I'm enjoying it. I missed the previous 2 series after it went over to sky but have seen this series with my Tiscali TV broadband package and box which gives me Sky1 and a few other extra channels over the internet direct to my tv.
Am totally confused by Tony's actions. I like the female fbi agent.
Jack Bauer is the best of the 3 JB action heroes.

tonys actions make no sense. as simple as that. fair enough he hates the government and wants revenge. why did he stop the rockets?

i really want to see jack go bad. after all at the start of this season he was on trial for his behaviour in saving the world. this is probably the least believable thing in this whole season even more than granny prez. jack is such a one dimensional character when even now after all he has done he still respects authority from the whitehouse. if he was a real character he wouldnt be so self sacrificing all the time. he is like judge dredd and as much as i adore that character jack should be made more human.

we thought he would be turned into a human being at the end of the previous season but no. that amounted to a fat zero. let him screw up. let him rebel for his own good and not the country.

tony's actions actually make sense if you've seen the last 2 eps of this season

I am following it. I like this season to be honest. Much better then season 6! that was just dreadful!!!!

I think 24 season 7 will still have a hard time reaching the highs of season 2 and 5 but, season 7 has been decent enough.

I like the use of the new FBI lead Agent Walker and Janis. The President I guess shall always be a hard one to fill as David Palmer played by Dennis Haysbert was just excellent. Logan was slick. Perhaps we should have seen what a Daniels presidency would have been like.

I don't have a hard time seeing Kim. As I have seen the final two hours I can say she more then holds her own...

...Going to miss Bill.

I guess all good things must come to an end. 24 has been good in the fact it was groundbreaking

Firekind, guess you dont understand Jack as you're not an American. Very patriotic bunch. Whats not to understand about Tony's actions. Im guessing that you have seen the series finale. Although Tony changed from good to bad throughout the series, his ultimate aim was the final meeting with Alan Wilson so he could kill him. Blowing up the rockets and keeping just one cannister gave him leverage. Willing to blow up the cannister on the underground gains him trust and ultimately a change to meet Alan Wilson. This series may not have been as all action as the ones before. Still it doesnt make it any less brilliant to watch. I have been a fan since the start. Jack Bauer may be one dimentional, but he gets the job done. A great show.
