What a talented actor especially with coming from a comedy background, having to play so many different versions of Harrison Wells each version totally different whether you like that particular version or not it’s a difficult job to do. Then there’s him playing Eobard Thawne pretending to be Harrison Wells and you can see the evil twinkle in his eye and when his full blown Reverse Flash his evil, ruthless yet still has that charm and the evil smile Tom Cavanagh portrayal of that character is nothing short of amazing. Wait till the season 5 finale of Flash next week Thursday on Sky1.

Emilia Clarke is the top of my list
Even faced with ill health (aneurysms), she battled on. Now, faced with some of the worst writing on tv, she gives it her all, stand out in fact. That part is hers, she plays it better than anyone else could. However GoT ends, she will always be one of the best characters on tv.
So a trooper, great actress, beautiful (obviously) and incredibly funny too.

The late Bill Paxton was always great whether it be a comedy roll like Weird Science(1984),True Lies(1994)or something far more serious such as Aliens(1986).His small part in The Last Supper(1995)was unforgettable but I think his best performance was as the frightening Dad Meiks in Frailty(2001).A religious fanatic who forces his sons in helping him do god's work by purifying the wicked.

^^^ He was great in both True Lies and Predator 2, his characters have been killed both a Alien and a Predator lol.

A lessor known, yet unvelievably strong actor is Matthew Rauch.
Just compare the two videos below. The first one is his true self, the second one shows his portrayal of Clay Burton in the Banshee series.

^ He was top notch in Banshee and is definitely underrated, the fight he has with Nola Longshadow is viciously brilliant...and a bit disturbing. lol.

I agree 100% with your statement, skully. His performances are brilliant, very intense and all around just very very good. Rauch does a lot of theatre work, but I hope he will also be on more big TV shows and high profile movie productions in the future.

Not sure that I’m a great judge of acting ability, but there are a few actors / actresses that always give me confidence that a film will be good just by their presence in it. It might be less about talent than it is about their taste and eye for a good script. Anyway, they include:
