Right, not done this for a while, so bare with me.

Thought I'd start this thread taking my inspiration from one of my better Lockdown experiences. 3 months back when all the panic buying kicked off many staple food items & a few other random things became hard to find. Bread being one of them .Lucky for me a kind hearted neighbour happens to work for the UK's most popular bread manufacturer, & has bunged me the odd loaf throughout this period despite the shortage being temporary. despite it being my brand of choice, I've been amazed at the endless range of loafs etc. on offer.

With this in mind I maybe a bread related chat & discussion thread would be a good idea. so feel free to post your thoughts on your favorite doughy products & maybe what you like to put on them or in them. No doubt someone will bring up the regional differences that apply to the name of the humble bread roll, North V South, Yorkshire Lancashire, breadcakes barm cakes etc. Or what about on the colour chart from cremated black to off white, how do you like your toast ?

On a more serious note, why do people continue to feed bread to ducks when everyone really knows that they eat grass. Just don't do it, it fucks em up. Perhaps that's the origin of the saying "fuck a duck" Important

I've three sons. All of which can eat bread for England.
Fortunately one left home a few years ago, so that's at least one less to find more for.
My lads can easily polish off half a loaf at breakfast.
Neither will eat Hovis... Both say its rank.
Warbatons or a decent uncut loaf seems to keep them appeased.
It's always easy to pop a few slices in the toaster for a quick bite. Big Grin

My purely personal opinion (and you are free to disagree in which case I will simply ignore you Wink. ) is that Kingsmill 50/50 is the greatest thing since....errr sliced bread.

Moving away from what I would class as your standard loaves, I'm really into what you could call Hybrids Cool, bread with stuff inside or on top, which could drift into the pizza category, anyway I'd say anything containing olives, chili peppers or cheese. Major supermarkets all do their own variations, but a good local artisan bakery is even better. the trick is to not overdo the quantity so the bread is still the star, to much & your bordering on a Calzone pizza. Important [Think pizza discussions can be included here as well]
