RE: Rapidshare - aceman65 - 22-02-2012 11:05 Well I've left this for a few days, just to see how much of an impact the restrictions were going to have on download stats. To my surprise, it doesn't seemed to have made any difference at all. The re-uploaded & new vids I posted are still getting the same amount of downloads as they were before the restrictons. Even the last Lori one that is over 700MB has had 136 downloads in the last two days. So if it's not going to have that much of an impact on downloads, I may as well continue to use Rapidshare. RE: Rapidshare - mrmann - 23-02-2012 22:31 I don't have an account with Rapidshare, and have noticed that any of the somewhat lengthy videos I try to download, won't work. Anything an hour to an hour and a half will download to 2 or 3%, but then it will stop and say that it's not working. A shame really, as some great videos have been posted from the members here. RE: Rapidshare - general drago - 23-02-2012 23:33 well for me files over 100mb take ages to download even tho i have a fast download speed, anything under a 100 will download in a few seconds RE: Rapidshare - aceman65 - 24-02-2012 01:40 well I managed to download the file mrmann was having a problem with. It took me over 3 hours to download the 400+ MB file. But at least it didn't get stuck at 2-3%. I'm just wondering if the broken or uncompleted downloads still register as a download on their system. It would explain why the download figures are not being affected. But in reality, only a few are actually getting the file. I may just upload some of them to MediaFire as well, and privide both links. RE: Rapidshare - Proj - 24-02-2012 13:36 ok, so I don't have an acc. with RS.. my download is saying 4 HOURS!!, its been like this for a good 2/3 weeks!!!... RE: Rapidshare - oklahoma001 - 24-02-2012 18:54 http://torrentfreak.com/rapidshare-slows-download-speeds-to-drive-away-pirates-120224/ Apparently because of all the traffic RS is getting now that MU is gone, the reason theyre limiting their speeds to 30kb/s is to deter pirates from uploading/downloading movies. However if you have a RS account and you upload files, and can prove to RS that what you upload is legal, they will not limit the speed on those particular files. Took me about 4 hours to download 2 files the other day. Not the worst thing but hopefully the days arent gone when we could browse the forum, find a file and have it within a few minutes for "viewing" RE: Rapidshare - aceman65 - 24-02-2012 21:24 They should bring back the happy hour, where free users can at least have a chance of getting the larger files. RE: Rapidshare - aceman65 - 13-03-2012 13:03 I've recently been informed by one of my contacts, that Rapidshare might be the FBI's next target for piracy & copyright infingement. However I can not confirm this. So just in case it does turn out to be correct. Make sure you have back-up's of all your Rapidshare content. Otherwise I fear another Megaupload situation arising. There new system no longer replaces spaces and the "&" symbol with underscores. So your link may not display correctly if posted. So keep an eye on your links. As you may need to edit your filenames before uploading to Rapidshare. This new development is going to catch a few people out. All the best Ace. |
