Shame really.
I would like to have seen both underdogs make it and shake things up but somehow I always had a nagging suspicion it wasn't to be.

A remorseless barrage from Judd Trump has left John Higgins with an enormous mountain to climb heading into day two of the final.
Trump won 8 frames in a row to go from 4-5 to 12-5.

He's making up for lost time, really. Hope John gets the 3-4 frames to take it to the evening, but a Nigel Bond experience still seems likely.

Have to say well done to Higgins to at least split the 8 frames and take us to the evening session. Shame about that second session but Judd played well and got the run of the ball when he missed

This afternoon was amazing again, to start and end with 147 attempts, more & more centuries, and Higgins clearly accepting his fate as a 3-time-consecutive-loser with more calmness than Jimmy White did.
Well done to Judd Trump, who's really stepped it up this season. Now, will he be the first champ to successfully defend it in 2020?

When Trump plays like that he is pretty much unplayable to be honest.
