As the large numbers are at the bottom of the chart, does that mean a 20,000 drop in July and August?

No it doesn't, the smaller the number the better. It's like a golf score, you want lower rather than higher.

5414. Does that technically qualify as a "shitload"?Bounce

With regards to forum stats I think last nights count should be discredited.

For starters there was obvious technical faults that occured. For example all the times of the last posts made were hours out. I made a post at 03:36 yet the last post counter showed 21:36.

Also the forum went temporary down aswell. Last night I tried to log in and was presented with a message telling me that the server had gone down.

When the server went down those who were currently browsing the forum would have been unable to log out hence the reason for the false reading when it told you the amount of members that were online.

Maybe admin can shed some light as to what exactly happened last night.

When I tried to make a post around 1:30 this morning, I got a message telling me to wait 20,187 seconds before trying again Important

Annoyed I didn't think of taking a screen cap.

Yes the server went down last night and for some reason the server clock also moved 6 hours ahead. When the clock was reset to the correct time it meant that many records of forum visits which had expired were suddenly alive again, i.e. someone who had left the forum 3 hours before was now regarded as having not left until 3 hours in the future. As the visit had therefore not expired it was being counted in the forum stats as a current visitor. I hope you're following this!

Anyway this meant that the number of people showing as using the forum included everyone who had visited the forum in the previous 6 hours. So therefore for a period of 6 hours the forum was showing false visitor figures but the old session records with the incorrect time on them gradually expired over the course of that 6 hours, meaning that the problem steadily improved over that 6 hours until finally when the 6 hours were up the forum was once again showing the true figures.
