I don't buy that anyone from the general public calls Ofcom regarding the babeshows, certainly not very often. It's clearly other channels trying to eliminate competition and probably things discussed on here from time to time. Hell, wouldn't surprise me if Ofcom had some lucky bastard sitting monitoring the channels all day or sifting through recordings to find stuff.

I certainly don't see the situation arising very often where someone is flicking through the adult channels and stumbles upon the call shows and is so disgusted by the nature of the content that they'd call Ofcom and complain.

But you can't just call Ofcom and say, "I don't like the sex channels. Make them go away." As much as I loath the organisation, they do require details when a complaint is lodged. I can't see 87 year-old Daily Mail reader Arthur Blackpudding watching three hours worth of Sportxxx just so he can lodge a complaint about a specif occurrence.

No, as Scotsman points out, complaints to Ofcom from actual viewers probably make up about 0.0001% of the total complaints.

Back in the 70s we had that kind of a thing from a little old lady. She was called Mary Whitehouse. The clean-up brigades of today don't really feel the need to exist because there's an established one already in place doing their job for them, and they're called Ofcom.
