Umpire Tucker (he's living up to his name) cost England 8 runs in the SA innings. But he's more than made up for it by calling a 'No Ball' when Hales was caught a point. But Morkel had part of his foot behind the line Rolleyes

Hale & Ali have both been caught and England are now 73-3 with 75 balls remaining.

A valiant chase by England but they couldn't quite make it, finishing on 193/7 and losing by 3 runs. South Africa got too many even for a good chase to overhaul and England should look at the 18th over of South Africa's innings, bowled by Dernbach and costing 26. England's score after 17 overs was ahead of South Africa's total at that stage.

Not good enough by England in the field. It began with Jos Buttler missing a simple stumping and ended with Moeen Ali dropping a catch which then went for 4. England got away with a poor performance in the field in the last match, but the batsmen couldn't rescue them this time.

Coming into this tournament England were a shambles.... at least coming out of this tournament we can take the performances of few players as consolation. Hales, Jordan, Ali (at times) There remains a base of talent in english cricket, most not currently selected. Now lets see who gets the main job.... If it is Giles my optimism for a bright future will be extinguished!!! If it is Kirsten or whisper it quietly to boomer Jason Gillespie I think the future can be very goodSmile

Jade Dernbach : Good enough to wear an England shirt ?

Let's look at the evidence.

He is not alone... Tim Bresnan

T20 Internationals this year

8 matches
26.5 overs

That is without adding in the pitiful performances of Parry, Briggs, Broad, Woakes etc...... give me Rafiq, Overton, Willey, Napier, Mills, anybody Tongue

This is currently the worst bowling figures for any player in T20 cricket. Why do England persist with this obviously bad player? Huh

They won't. He's played his last match for England.

At least Bresnan offers something with the bat with a strike rate better than Bopora who obviously has more talent & is the designated finisher.

By all mean give some of the names you've listed a go but many of them aren't ready yet.

For example,Rafiq lost his place through form & injury for Yorkshire & was going for a lot of runs.

Dizzy is going to be far too busy helping Yorkshire fill their trophy cabinet in the coming years. Wink
