All teams are guilty of slow over rates. The ICC should become far more strict about this problem. Unbowled overs should be punished by awarding penalty runs to the opposition.

Broad took a hat trick today without noticing and Plunkett took 5 wickets as Sri Lanka made only 257 all out.

Stuart Broad took a hat again Sri Lanka today and became the first Englishman to take two Test career hat-tricks.

Sri Lanka were 257 all out. In reply England were 36-0 at the close

Forget the penalty runs, suspend the guilty captain for two matches and they will soon sort the over rates out.

Robson has scored a century for England in his second test, getting there just after tea on the 2nd day.

RE: England vs Sri Lanka 2014 - Charlemagne - 21-06-2014 23:22

Sam Robson hits 127 before a Sri Lanka fightback limited England to 320-6
Which is a lead of 63

A good morning for Sri Lanka, bowling England out for 365. Considering that England were 278/2 at one point last night it's a considerable fightback. Robson, Ballance and Bell were the only major contributors to England's total, plus Prior made 27 not out, with the other 7 batsmen contributing only 55.

It's a pity that Robson is yet another import - an Aussie playing for England.

Tea time score today. Sri Lanka 426 -8 ..
Mathews is 149 not out and England have just got Herath out for 48 (and that was a run out)

The new batsman has just edged one to slip but the umpire missed it (no reviews left)
