They're going back to the old format next summer with the 'bigger' touring team coming first ie South Africa, and the white ball games being played first.

Good. The test series is the most Important despite that ridiculous x amount of points for wining a test match and Y for winning the one day ers. It would be like doing a rugby tour playing 3 test matches for two points each and than having 7. 7 a side matches awarding a point for each win. The test series is what people remember.

Today sees the first test against Pakistan at Lords and an England debut for Jake Ball plus the return to the side of Gary Ballance. Joe Root is moved up to #3 in the batting order, previously occupied by the departed Nick Compton. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pakistan 282/6 at close on the first day. Woakes has 4/45 and looks increasingly difficult to drop when Anderson returns.

My guess will be Either Finn or one of the batsmen will make way for Stokes. Possibly Balance unless he has a blinder.

Pakistan 339 all out with Woakes taking 6/70. It only took 12.2 overs of play this morning for England to take the last 4 wickets.
