Jack Lisowski has withdrawn for personal reasons so Judd Trump gets a bye into the quarter finals.

Jimmy Robertson got the upset, beating Mark Allen 4-2, winning the last 4 frames from 2-0 down.

Xu Si won the all chinese clash with Ding Jinhui. Wu Yize beat Pang Junxu. Xiao Guodong and Lei Peifan also won. Si Jiahui narrowly lost 4-3 to Hossein Vafaei.

Sadly Hawkins beat Tom Ford 4-1. Wins also for Mark Selby and Neil Robertson

(Edit) Hawkins vs Tubbs in the last 16.

As much as Murphy and Hawkins are disliked by various folk here it should actually be quite a decent match standard wise.
Good to see Selby get through after a disappointing World Open.

LIES! ALL LIES! Wink

Pleased for Neil Robertson, who as I feel I've said too often, could do with a good result this week.

Ok ok it will be rubbish.
The highest break will be 12 and all the frames will be dominated by foul shots with both of them looking like duffers on a club table Bounce Big Grin.

RE: World Grand Prix - Doddle - 05-03-2025 22:26

It was for matches such as this that Eurosport was killed off.

RE: World Grand Prix - Doddle - 06-03-2025 14:42

Robertson through again, as was John Higgins.

RE: World Grand Prix - Joannis - 06-03-2025 17:48

As long as he turns up, Higgins will now have the record for most quarter final appearances...um...147. Higgins will play Tubbs, who beat Hawkins 4-1.

The other Robertson, Jimmy, lost 4-2 to Mark Selby. Xiao Guodong is edging towards victory against Lei Peifan, but not over yet.

Quarter final Line up:

Higgins v Tubbs
Judd Trump v Hossein Vafaei
Stuart Bingham v Mark Selby
Neil Robertson v Xiao Guodong or Lei Peifan
