'cancel culture' aka accountability.
that term has become a conservative talking point but really, it's a term that people who do sketchy thing use when they are held accountable for their sketchy actions.
are people held wrongly accountable, yes. but to say 'let's not punish anyone because we occasionally get it wrong is ridiculous.

If its accountability shouldn't have pedro pascal lost his job then ? I mean if its accountability where is the scale as to what the punishment is ?
If james gunn can be fired for something he tweeted over 10 years ago which i believe was him making a pedo joke... i still can't believe some loser searched through all of his tweets looking for something to take him down with lol but if thats the case i am sure if you search through 80% of people twitter account everyone has tweeted something dodgy at one point, so does that mean they should also lose their jobs ?

Accountability, being held responsible for one's actions, is an entirely proper and reasonable outcome. It is beneficial to the individual and society as a whole. But accountability must be proportionate to the results of the action.
That is where the mob mentality that birthed cancel culture has gone astray. The preference to not be offended (even for those of a so-called protected group) in no way trumps the benefits of free speech to society or an individual's right to the job they have.
The accountability in this case should have stopped at the whole world knowing she's a bit of a dick and telling her so.
