Should be quite a game. England's win yesterday puts England back into second place on run rate. With that in mind, it would be nice to have an Indian victory over Australia LOL. And big game for South Africa when they take on the West Indies tomorrow. I don't know if another defeat sees them almost virtually knocked out or not but I would say they would need to avoid another heavy defeat to have any chance of staying in the competition and nice to see NZ doing so well, I would think another two wins could see them virtually into the semis.

India won the toss and decided to bat first.

The Australia-India match is the 14th of the tournament, but only the 3rd in which a team has won the toss and batted first.

India think that the pitch has been used before and will get worse during the match. This will make it spinner friendly for the Australian innings.

India made 352 for 5 in their 50 overs.

Great win by England yesterday. Shame Roy didn't go on to a double hundred. Out in the 35th over for 153 attempting his 4th six in a row. Imagine the mayhem if he batted to the end!

Mind, if he did we wouldn't have seen Woakes and Plunkett causing mayhem of their own at the end. Woakes 18 off 8 balls strike rate 225, Plunkett 27 off 9 S/R 300!

Compare and contrast with Root 21 off 29 S/R 72. 17 singles 11 dots one 4. Yawn.

Woakes bowling a concern again. 8 wicketless overs at more than 8 an over.

Rashid's first 6 went for 8 an over, but then he got a wicket and his last 4 went at 4 an over. Confidence restored?

Poor old Oz. India 220 for 2 the last thing you want to see approaching the wicket is a rampant Hard Dick (Pandya).

South Africa play the West Indies in Southampton.

Apparently AB De Villiers offered to come out of international retirement for the competition, but his offer was declined bladewave

The way SA have performed seems to me that offer should have been accepted - no questions asked Tongue

should be an interesting game but expect Chris Gayle to produce all the fireworks if the Windies bat first

South Africa have been asked to bats first.
