Same here, great 1st season and still an enjoyable 2nd season so far but this latest episode was utter tosh!! Absolutely shambolic idea of an episode - why do the writers of these episode's think that, episode's, such as this last one is a great idea? I get the fun element involved but it was way off the mark for such an intriguing series. Overall disappointed, totally confused why they thought this would be a great episode to air - crap, crap, crap!!!! Rolleyes - Rant over Smile

It was odd and out of place, but was at least put together better than a lot of other shows that have done musical episodes.
I can live with it as a one off if it doesn't become a regular thing, it really didn't go down well at all though did it. lol.

It’s one off, a lot a shows have done that Buffy, The Flash so anyone thinking it’s a regular thing you won’t have to worry.

buffy (once more with feeling) did it first, and best. the rest just followed suit.

^ Buffy got away with it because of the type of programme it was. Star Trek can do comedy, but it was probably unsuited to this. It felt like a shoe horned indulgence to some bts Broadway obsessives working on the show. "Lightweight audacious pap" was my main thought when it ended!

There's a sense that quite a bit of this season has been a bit of a finger to those humourless hardcore traditional Trekkie's that loved season one (over Discovery mostly)!

Now that’s a cliffhanger and we get to met a familiar face. The way they ended it reminded me of The Best of Both Worlds.

Well that was more like it but wasting an episode last week and leaving us on a cliffhanger sucks.

Also, did I detect a subtle nod to T2 and a not so subtle nod to Independence Day early in this episode Wink
