I went on-line to submit mine. Only to find out that the last reading that they'd used (estimated during mid March) was a lot higher than I was going to submit.
So I've been charged at a lower rate for energy that I haven't had yet Big Grin

I got an email from Scottish Power at 21.10 last night telling me what I already knew that I did not need to try to submit a meter reading as I’m on a contract (thank god although it does expire in June). They did say that they had increased their website capacity by 500% but that it had not been enough to cope with demand.

Martin Lewis has lost his rag at Ofgem, after the regulator stated that they don't see their proirity as being to provide the consumers with the lowest possible price at the moment. He see's the need to make sure that efficent energy suppliers finance their businesses.

Martin warned (on Peston last night) that there may be civil unrest towards the end of the year if the government fails to act on poverty

Sunak is rushing through a multibillion pound package which could include a new windfall tax (which they said they wouldn't do), help with fuel bills and financial assistance for the poorest. It's supposed to be announced on Thursday.

Urgency is needed. No not to help the vulnerable but as a way to deflect the Sue Gray report which is being released tomorrow. And Boris wants something positive before the MP's go on their break

OFGEM now say the October cap could now exceed £2,800 for most households.

Whatever Sunak plans, probably will not halt the steady rise in prices over the summer period and somewhere along the line I doubt the plans will go far enough for some.
