RE: UFC - 199lives - 20-05-2011 15:13 long post reply to a few things I am what the hardcore fans call a tuf noob, watched a little bit before but only started following what was going on after tuf 3 with Bisping and Ross Pointon was on (thought it was funny they subtitled the scouser ) didn't watch much pride at the time but have watched some old fights. think the ring and rules favoured strikers which meant more exciting fights, ufc in the cage favours wrestlers that can just control fights while not being very active. although pride was bust and the zuffa only bought up there assets thought they could have made more of an effort to keep it going a bit, even just to enter into the japanese market. i hate Sonnen but think an indefinate ban seems harsh, why not put a time length on it? he can re-apply for a license in about a year but no gaurantee he would get it. he could also still have a career outside the ufc there are promoters outside the usa or smaller orgs that will still wants him and will not mind annoying the CSAC to have him fight. edit: First post on Page 100, what do i win? RE: UFC - Gaz "AV1" Aston - 20-05-2011 15:57 I heard about UFC whilst watching Central Weekend Live (a live debate show that used to air late on Friday nights throughout the mid eighties into 2001) and UFC2 had just been sanctioned (1992-93) ..The premise alone sounded awesome so i was intrigued from that moment on...Of course at that point they werent allowed to show any clips from the fights as they were illegal everywhere else lol I managed to get hold of a recording a few months later and was hooked after that RE: UFC - mitchell - 20-05-2011 23:40 (20-05-2011 15:13 )199lives Wrote: edit: First post on Page 100, what do i win? UFC Babes Prestigious Silver Coin RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 21-05-2011 15:01 Just a heads up lads that UFC: Best of 2010 comes out this Monday. Might wind up buying it. RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 22-05-2011 05:23 Quote:Nick Diaz is likely to face George St-Pierre for his next UFC welterweight title defense in 2011, with all signs pointing towards a December showdown in Montreal. Makes sense, St Pierre has beaten all his challengers and Diaz is a fresh challenger who was involved in one of the best fights this year against Paul Daley. Unlike Shields, Diaz can throw and work on the ground with his submissions. RE: UFC - mitchell - 22-05-2011 12:24 One person not happy about GSP v Diaz is Jon Fitch. Jon Fitch has slammed reports that Nick Diaz will be Georges St-Pierre's next opponent, labelling Diaz a "paper champ". Fitch has won five of his last six fights, drawing the other against BJ Penn. He has only lost once in his last 23 bouts, that defeat coming against St-Pierre. However, the AKA man's grinding style - coupled with the fact he got dominated by St-Pierre - has made the UFC hugely hesitant to put on a rematch. Fitch remembers his loss to GSP differently though, insisting he put on the most entertaining of all St-Pierre's title defences since the Canadian regained his belt three years ago. The next to test St-Pierre is expected to be Diaz in December, the month Fitch plans to return from injury. Reacting to news that the Strikeforce v UFC bout is verbally agreed, Fitch is adamant Diaz has plenty to do to prove he is a worthy No. 1 contender. He wrote on Twitter: "Why would that fight be good? Diaz got [his] title because[Jake] Shields vacated the belt. Paper champ. "Let's see Shields vs Diaz for No. 1 contender while I'm hurt. Keep that going Fitch Fanatics. GSP vs Diaz = Bulls***. "You know it's bulls*** buddy. Who else should fight the Frenchie other than me? I'll fight anyone. I'm out till December. But I'll fight anyone, hopefully GSP in December." I for one couldn't give a fuck if Fitchy boy never fights again.... Paper champion, I'd rather be talked about on paper than be a natural boring fuck in the octagon!!! RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 22-05-2011 13:16 Yeah Fitch's fighting style won't and certainly hasn't won him many fight fans. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 23-05-2011 13:26 Fuck off Fitch. This is what u looked like the last time you fought GSP you bore. RE: UFC - BaddaBing - 23-05-2011 17:06 Alll I can say is....... |
