There was a question asked in the house of commons this morning about why the shirts are so expensive.
The answer was along the lines of - you'll have to ask the manufacturers.

I never thought i would see this day that a shirt for the ice hockey team I support Manchester Phoenix would be cheaper than an England football shirt
The piece of a Manchester Phoenix shirt for me is £55 which includes the name and number of a player on the back. The price of the new england shirt will be either around £70 with a name and number on the back if you get the "stadium" shirt or around £100 if you get the "match shirt" with a name and number on the back
So I know what new shirt I'll be getting in the summer

You've obviously seen David Dunn in one
you win one game in 35 years and you get cocky

Simple its because they know they can get away with charging it they talk space age material but its all put together in a sweat shop in vietnam by child labour
the loss of JJB also means will not be comp between retailers either

if england were actually a good team then it wouldn't be so bad but their not, imagine if they won the world cup what would the price of the next new shirt cost? though i suppose £90 for the england players is like 9p to them

According to the papers the people who make the shirts would need over 2 months wages to buy one. It is sad to think this still happens in 2014
RE: Football Banter - circles_o_o_o - 02-04-2014 13:45
Much better value to back the winners

A European team has never won a world cup in south america before but Germany must be in with a shout of being the first.

Barcelona have been given a 14 month transfer ban for signing international players who were under 18.
No buying or selling allowed until summer 2015.

This thing about the England shirt, am i right in saying that there is a different version of the jersey for £60 on the FA site - just not called "match shirt"?
£60 is still steep, but surely those looking to buy a jersey and giving out about the £90 price-tag, can just buy the other one instead, no?
