RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 08-03-2017 12:22 A good pic for fans of Classic Spielberg, E.T(1982) 30th Anniversary Edition. I got it for £3 in Granger Games. The wonderfully remastered sound and 1080p picture only add to the charm of this timeless classic.Just a shame Spielberg doesn't do commentaries. The Making of Heat (3-Part Documentary) Deleted Scenes Pacino and De Niro: The Conversation) Return To The Scene of the crime And only paid £6 RE: Blu Ray Recommendations - rpj316 - 12-03-2017 11:51 A good choice for music biopics,La Bamba(1987) I got it from a Leeds market for £6 Lou Diamond Phillips's is superbly likeable as Richie Valens,tragically killed in 1959 at age 17 along with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper.The film is a sentimental but hugely enjoyable account of Valens' tough upbringing,relentless dedication to music and fued with his father who disapproved of his girlfriend.Nicely remastered picture and soundtrack add to this underated gem. A Michael Curtis film noir melodrama adapted from James M.Cain's novel.Joan Crawford is as a doting mother whose struggles to keep balance of her career,relationships with men and her daughter. The blu ray transfer is so crisp too,its never looked better. Regarded by man as one of director Niel Jordan's best efforts,with excellent performance from Stephen Rea and Jaye Davidson.
