The ladies championship is very open. A number of potential winners still left in imo.

I wonder if Sharapova had competed would the ladies' draw be as open as it is now - with her involved?

^ Yes, I think it would still have been as open a draw even with Sharapova there. I think there are better players on the women's tour nowadays than her and I don't really rate her as a favourite for these events. It would have been difficult for her to win a slam anyway, straight after coming back from the drugs ban. Remember also that Sharapova hasn't won Wimbledon since 2004, which is an awful long time ago.

As for the remaining ladies still competing, I still find it difficult to pick the outright winner. On the men's draw, despite a few outside contenders, you can still generally see it being won by one of the top four, they're still the favourites. But the women's draw is very difficult to predict. You could read down that entire last sixteen and make a case for each of them.

Personally, if Kerber or Konta can't win I'd like to see Radwanska do it. She has a wonderful game for grass - I was very impressed with the way she served / volleyed / drop shotted against Bacsinszky.

Looking forward to fourth round day tomorrow when all 32 singles players, men and women, are in action. The second Monday is always one of the most eagerly anticipated days of the Wimbledon fortnight.

There are some cracking matches in the fourth round to look forward to in the mens and womens events. Should be a belting good day.

Well done to Marcus Willis and Jay Clarke taking out the defending champions Mahut and Herbert in mens doubles.

Jamie Murray out of mens doubles but still in mixed doubles with Martina Hingis
