RE: UFC - groundnpound - 28-05-2011 00:46 Predictions for 2mrw night lads.I predict a KO fest!!! Brian Stann vs. Jorge Santiago *Stann by KO (punches) Round 1 Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story * Gonna try and be ultra precise here Alves by KO (knee and strikes) Round 2 Stefan Struve vs. Travis Browne * Browne by KO (punches) Round 3 Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson *Mir by KO (cold clean 1 punch KO) Round 1 Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill * Rampage by KO (punches) Round 2 The odds on Stann,Alves,Browne,Mir and Rampage all winning by KO are 631/1 Gonna stick something on it. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 28-05-2011 10:45 Michael Bisping and Jason Miller are the coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 14 to be shown in September. The tryouts were for Bantamweight and Featherweight fighters. Miller was the guy who started the infamous Strikeforce "brawl" with Jake Sields and the Diaz brothers when he went into the cage after the Shields/Henderson fight to ask Shields for a rematch. He'll make for a good show but another poor opponent for Bisping. RE: UFC - LODOS - 28-05-2011 11:47 im hoping hamill wins tonight i dont know why but i like him more than rampage and do you know what channel the ultimate figter will be on?? RE: UFC - Gaz "AV1" Aston - 28-05-2011 12:56 oh fuck..im gonna miss it again RE: UFC - mitchell - 28-05-2011 13:05 The Ultimate Fighter will most probably still be on ESPN the same as the current series that is on at the moment Thursday 22:00 it's the Quarters or Semis next week I think. Jim Miller isn't the fighter I was expecting Bisping to face next considering he's been mentioned as being 1 win away from a title shot but I guess if he wins this fight in November at UFC 137,8 or 9 in Sweden or 140 in Canada December 10th then he could face Anderson Silva on New Years Day if he fights & beats Miller on November 5th??? RE: UFC - groundnpound - 28-05-2011 13:42 Welcome to the thread LODOS! TUF will probs be on ESPN mate. Not ideal as a lot of people will miss it. Mitchell's your man though for puting the episodes up on here. RE: UFC - mitchell - 28-05-2011 14:42 UFC 130 ESPN 2am Prelims 1am. Brian Stann v Jorge Santiago Former WEC KO artist Stan is quietly moving along in his UFC career albeit with only 1 TKO so far in his 4-2 record, tonight he faces BBJ black belt Jorge Santiago who fights in the UFC for the first time since 2006 & is on a 13-1 record in his last 14 23-8 overall. Stann has made noise about a shot at the Middleweight title & a good win tonight may push him ahead of the likes of Michael Bisping but Santiago will also be looking to keep up his his winning run & with 12 subs & 9 KO's to Stann's 7 KO's this fight looks like the judges might not be needed. - Santiago Decision Thiago Alves v Rick Story Rick Story is on a very good run at the moment with 11 of his 12 wins comming in his last 13 fights & his last 2 against good opponents in Dustin Hazelett & Johny Hendricks & having not lost since his UFC debut against John Hathaway he'll be in good spirits as he comes up against Thiago Alves who'll still be fighting at Welterweight after beating John Howard in his 'Last chance' in this division fight last time out. After 2 losses to champ GSP & then a contender fight with Jon Fitch 'Pit Bull' will be looking for another big win to put himself in with a shot at facing GSP should the Nick Diaz fight not happen. - Alves Decision Stefan Struve v Travis Browne KO specialist Browne (10-0 8 KO's) fights in the UFC for the 3rd time after beating James McSweeney & then drawing with Cheick Kongo after a wrongful judges decision he now faces the ever improving young Dutchman Struve who'll be looking to improve on his 5-2 UFC record with losses only to Junior dos Santos & Roy Nelson, all but 1 of his 7 UFC fights so far have been finished inside the 15 minutes W5 L2, KO/TKO W2 L2 subs 2 decision 1. Struve is never in a boring fight & is a very big tallent but Travis Browne will be bringing some big power to the table to make this a very dangerous fight for both men & a difficult one to call. - Struve Submission Frank Mir v Roy Nelson The two big guns face each other for the first time with the super tallented Mir at somewhat of a crossroads in his UFC career having fought all but 2 of his 19 fights in the UFC since 2001 the former 2 time UFC Heavyweight champion needs to win this fight or at least put on a very good show even if he loses as his last 4 fights have resulted in 2 losses to Brock Lesnar (Title fight) & Shane Carwin (Intrim title fight) & 2 wins over Cheick Kongo & Mirko Crocop & with Junior dos Santos, Brendan Schaub & new Heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez on the scene it may be a tough road back to the top for the 32 year old. Another fighter fairly new to the UFC is TUF winner Roy Nelson who fights in the organization for the fourth time (2-1) & has a lot of experience with a 15-5 overall record & he's already fought Brendan Schaub, Stefan Struve & Junior dos Santos in the 2 years since stepping into TUF house as the unfancied fat guy, the BBJ black belt has an even record of 8 KO's 5 Subs & 2 Decision so will prove another big test for Mir & if 'Big Country' can pull through it will no doubt put him in the mix with the very top of the division. - Nelson TKO<<< I forgot to put this in. Quinton Jackson v Matt Hamill Matt Hamill has been somewhat of a revelation in his MMA career since making the crossover from wrestling with 10 wins & 2 losses in the UFC he's also managed to do what most wrestlers can't & gain some pretty good stand up skills earning himself 6 KO's with 0 wins by submission the former 3 time NCAA division III national wrestling champion is also 3rd on the all time list of UFC wins with 9 (According to MMA Live). Rampage steps back into the octagon with questions being asked as to whether he's fully focused on his MMA career rather than a career in Hollywood, with Rampage saying he needs fights with fighters who will come to fight & not just roll around & try to earn a decision. The word from the Wolfslair is that he's in great shape & very much focused & ready to go which could mean a return to the Rampage of old & Matt Hamill may just be the perfect opponent for that sort of performance, even though Hamill has good stand up he is also slow & this could give Rampage the chance to tee off with some punishing big shots. The key to this fight may lay with the tactics of Hamill, if he goes to the ground then it will leave Rampage frustrated & could play into Hamill's hands but taking down Rampage is no easy task & Hamill could leave himself open to one of Rampage's famous power slams. This is not an easy fight for either fighter & also not an easy fight to call but it should be on hell of a main event!!! - Rampage TKO I'm excited about this one it looks like it could be the best of the year so far??? RE: UFC - LODOS - 28-05-2011 15:33 thanks for the welcome and info RE: UFC - groundnpound - 28-05-2011 16:28 No probs LODOS. Awesome preview post Mitchell.Great stuff mate.
