I think the suggestion is that this virus is going to be the single one that is going to have a hold over our lives for many years. I listened to Stephen Nolan on 5live last night until late and they hsd two interesting conversations one was with Stephen Dolan who is looking at bringing a legal challenge for a judicial review against the lockdown saying it not save more lives and said that the lockdown was introduced under the Public Health act of 1984 instead of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 or the emergency Coronavirus Act 2020, and contravened several guidelines of the 1984 (shades of Gina Miller perhaps?)

The other was with an expert from the WHO, and he said that if anything, the diseases is unlikely to be eradicated unless a viable vaccine was found and the disease would be prevalent for many years.

Stephen Nolan in conversation with Stephen Dolan.. must be related.

It's idiots like him who make the front line medical staff so annoyed. His actions could have implications not just to him and his family but anyone he could meet. annoyed

Synairgen have been developing a new drug, SNG-001.
The UK trail has started today to see if it can help the immune system prepare for a viral attack. Thereby reducing the more severe cases of the viral attack from requiring intensive care and ventilators.

Just saw this report on the BBC daily briefing feed, about a new report prepared for the White House about the progress of the virus in America.
They are predicting the number of daily infections to increase from around 25,000 now, to 200,000 by the end of the month!
Also predicting a death tally of 200,000.
And apparently Trump himself has stated a possible total of around 100,000, double what he has previously predicted (and yet still he is pushing for states to open back up for business).

Pretty grim stuff across the water.

Here's the New York Times piece being referred to :

Has he really grasped the seriousness of the situation?

Of course he has. That is he’s not going to get re-elected if he does not open up the economy and blame the Chinese and Joe Biden for the virus. He’s claimed he is a wartime president because of the virus so he should be prosecuted as a war criminal for the deaths his inactivity has caused.
