Anyone seen his birth certificate?

RE: Darts - Doddle - 03-01-2024 22:25

Isn't he from Warrington? I can well believe he's 16.

Humphries is also impressive for being 28, we shouldn't overlook that. It could be his first world title too.

Luke Humphries is the 2024 Champion Of The World defeating 16 Year Old Sensation Luke Littler 7-4.

A step too far for the young man, but nothing should detract from his run here! I actually thought before the final that he was due a drop in performance, Unfortunate for him, that it came in the biggest match of the lot!

RE: Darts - Kingsmind - 04-01-2024 03:34

Yeah wasn't to much of a drop of he still averaged 101 but Humphries was just to good for him simple as that.

Anyway isn't he great under pressure , never see a player like it and for his age to , he also takes most of his doubles out at the first attempt to , he is definitely the future of darts.

The telling point was that missed shot by Littler I would say in the next 3 to 5 years Littler will win it, time is on his side. I would think there is every chance he will gain a premier League spot from that. Congrats to Humphries though, From the highlights I saw he certainly battled back from 4-2 down. It certainly did have everything as a final bothb should be proud of their perfomances - was there ever a possibility of a 9 dart finish?

RE: Darts - Doddle - 04-01-2024 15:53

I think Littler gave it a good go, a 4-2 lead is no small beer in the circumstances, and that switch from 5-2 to 4-3 was maybe where it all happened. Well done to Humphries too, presumably a bit galling for his triumph to have been so overshadowed. He had a few deciders in earlier rounds, then seemed to improve in the latter stages.

Premier League Line Up
Luke Humphries
Peter Wright
Michael Van Gerwen
Rob Cross
Gerwyn Price
Nathan Aspinall
Michael Smith
Luke Littler

And yes Luke Littler is in which is great for him and from a non darting point it is also great because he gets to travel all around the world at that age.

Nathan Aspinalll? Any relation to UFC champ Tom Aspinall?

RE: Darts - Kingsmind - 04-01-2024 22:44

No he isn't related to him.
